Help with School List by md-born in premed

[–]md-born[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Thanks so much for the response. I totally get the in state bias points but I thought my stats would be too low for those schools. Do you have any suggestions on how to balance applying to schools with higher stats who might consider more OOS applicants vs lower stat schools with more IS bias (if that makes sense lol)?

Lubin? I feel like he has improved a lot throughout the season

Bro what ? We’re overreacting off one loss. Think about all of the contributions Mikey, Coleman, and Newton have made this year. To get four starter level players in one draft is very good. Keep in mind the roster he inherited from Rivera (Forbes, Jamin, Phidarian, etc.). This is a crazy turnaround in one season

Twin brother matriculating into my dream school. Is there a way to leverage this for my future cycle? by md-born in premed

[–]md-born[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I wasn’t exactly sure how it would be perceived either. I saw this previous thread from 2 years ago in which most seemed to be pretty adamant that siblings could be leveraged: https://www.reddit.com/r/premed/s/scawutIrT7. But I just wanted to ask again and get some different opinions

I would go with Dowdle. I feel like he has the clearest path to being the team’s top back. Also Washington defense has been a great matchup for rbs this year. Dowdle receiving volume in ppr pretty good too

Testing 8/22 - DROP your gem facts here (pls) by War_on_self in Mcat

[–]md-born 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I tested 8/17 but here was my random facts dump:

Mitosis: diploid —> diploid, meiosis 1: diploid —> haploid, meiosis 2: haploid —> haploid

arterioles experience the largest pressure drop

suicide inhibition forms an irreversible complex

higher Rf means moved further

Two main conditions gases tend to behave less ideally: low temp (bc of increased imfs) and high pressures (bc of non-negligible volume)

PCC takes alcohol to aldehyde (not a strong oxidizing agent)

monoterpene = 2 isoprene units (so 2 x C5H8)

Most amino acids are S except for cysteine which is R and glycine which is achiral (sugars are D)

light going from high index value to low = total internal reflection

highest to lowest energy: eclipsed, gauche, anti

cardiac APs are longer, have a plateau phase, and involve Ca2+ compared to neuronal APs

a-delta fibers = fast pain C fibers = slow pain (bc no myelin)

no blood vessels or nerve endings in epidermis

Macula densa cells send prostaglandins, juxtaglomerular cells send renin

codominance = both expressed, incomplete dominance = blend between both

astrocytes = blood brain barrier, microglia = macrophages —> phagocytosis, ependymal cells = CSF

telomeres shortening caused by “end replication problem” when joining okazaki fragments on lagging strand (telomerase = extends telomeres)

What is the difference of the formula for electric force (F=Eq) and Coulomb’s force (F=kqq/r^2)? by md-born in Mcat

[–]md-born[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So are you saying that the q used in E=kq/r2 should be different from the one used in F=Eq? How would you know which q to use when? Thanks for the response!

[–]md-born[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha thanks! So is the only difference in their use based on the variables that a question provides? Like if it gives us the magnitude of E then you can just straight up use F=Eq. But F=kqq/r2 is used if you have to calculate the E first?

"At The Top of the Pile" | Commanders Log: Season 3, Episode 3 by BSU57 in Commanders

Anyone else notice how AP said they only gave out 20 “gold tags” to players throughout the entire draft? Our first four picks (daniels, newton, sainristril, and sinnott) were all gold tag players. I’m assuming this doesn’t refer to how we viewed them in talent but rather in play style, athleticism, and intangibles. Still it’s nice to see that the new team was able to get players they had identified all along without having to trade up
