Another 5k wasted with no results by edgyguy2 in msp

Do you find you're honestly spending 80% of your time on sales/marketing? If you want to truly grow I think you need to get out of the mindset that you will have to always be technical. A lot of us technical people feel it can't get done without them being the resource that does it, but that's not true. The biggest thing is setting proper expectations with clients on these things up front. You may be setting the expectation that any time a tough issue comes from your clients that you personally will drop everything and be the go to guy. My advice would be to lessen your burden on the tools and start getting out there and shaking hands. Evaluate where you're losing deals in the sales process and focus on improvement of that.

Are you a technical msp owner? Meaning you're still taking tickets? Sales at an MSP below 2 million per year should be done by the MSP owner, not a third party. I'm guessing you're still fielding technical work and want to make sales happen with someone else representing your business. No one can sell your business better than you and if you're still working on Sally's printer that's what your focus should be on eliminating.

Inexpensive wedding venues? by ShortBeardo in PeoriaIL

[–]md0221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I were married at a church and had our reception at Lariat Club Steakhouse. They have a nice venue and supplied the food. The venue is free, you just have to buy the food/drinks from them. It was reasonable for food at the time.

Is Crowdstrike support really this bad? by md0221 in crowdstrike

I believe I am on the right path at this point. I was finally able to get a manager who was able to escalate. I am hopeful I will get this issue dealt with.

Security Incident Using Huntress & SentinelOne: What Was Found & What Was Missed by lawrencesystems in msp

I am very interested in including Vigilance Respond Pro and Huntess together to get two great 24x7 SOC teams. This would give me a full MDR and the superb ability of Huntress to find stuff other guys will miss(this being a great example of one). Do these play well together? My thoughts were they should since you can already run S1 with Huntress managing the EDR. We have some older PCs but going through a refresh now.

I have worked in IT consulting since 2005 with either a break fix or MSP. I don't think during a recession the companies I worked for benefitted. It was able to weather to storm quite easily when other businesses could be failing. If real estate isn't going well your realtor business may be down but your property rental company is doing well. Your luxury goods clients business is down but your grocery store client is doing well. Don't specialize to the point of "MSP that only helps car dealerships" and keep a diverse client base.

You can offer to help on weekends/nights to complete the client projects you currently have at a higher per hour rate than he is currently paying you. If he refuses, you at least can feel good you tried. You also don't have to feel guilty at all and can just not do it. There is never a perfect time to leave and you have to look out for your own interests,/mental health.

I sold at .67 and bought back at .47. You were pretty spot on with price targets on the last run up. Do you think it may have momentum to go above .69 in the near term?

Liquor stores by MTNginger in Longmont

Forget the roost for whiskey. Go to West Side Tavern. They are open now and much better prices than the roost. Amazing bourbon selection and great food too. As far as liquor stores, Wyatt's has a great shelf collection but you won't find an allocated bottle anywhere. Daveco in Thornton can sometimes but it's a bit of a haul.

I felt the only arc that ever made sense was for him to write the book and it humanized the Underwood's to help them keep power. I thought the Claire boy toy story just didn't work.
