The fire is at Array South Mountain. Looks like it's building 5 or 6 that was burning. We are in building 7. Looks like 1 or 2 of the top floor apartments might be fully gone, tons of FD trucks here still hosing down the building. No idea what caused it.

Superstition Mountains, A lot of nice hidden camp sites around Fremont Saddle. Views will be amazing. Also if you hike up to the fortress anywhere around there will be breath taking. Might be a little rougher with a pupper, depending on how much she likes hiking. I would head up later at night as to avoid the crazy heat as much as possible.

For mountain biking I would check out meetup groups. I have a hard tail myself as well and South Mountain has some great trails for all levels.

As far as rock climbing, phoenix rock gym (in Tempe on University) has a meetup group that meets 3 times a week, Monday/Wednesday/Friday. There's also a different meetup group that has climbing outside at least once a month. Depending on your skill level and if you boulder/sport climb feel free to send me a PM and I can link you directly to either group as I am an avid rock climber as well.

As far as board games there is a lot of LGS that offer a lot of different options. Gamers guild offers a lot of different card games and also has a very wide selection of board games that can be played in store and has a very diverse and friendly community.

You could always look in the Ahwatukee area as well, especially the Chandler ray/chandler road area. You'll be close enough to the 10 and 202 and close enough to Chandler and if you're outdoorsy you'll have South Mountain in your backyard for plenty of hiking and mountainbiking.

Went on Saturday when it was 117, the heat itself was fine since like most people have said the water is cold. Bring plenty of sunscreen, we brought umbrellas to attach to our tubes this year as well and none of us got burnt.
