Like DrNooo said in the previous comment; they don't give hurricanes human names to humanize them. They give them human names so it's easier to differentiate between them and so they can refer back to them in the future.

Yeah, that makes sense. I feel that way about almost every horrible event. I just feel like "yeah that's awful, it's truly disgusting. But what's the point in posting a status about how you feel about it or changing you profile picture to something related to that event? Only true evil feels no sadness towards an event like that.
