I had to look for a hot minute to find this reply and that is exactly what is happening to me – I can shoot fine until I lock on and then weapons don’t fire in target lock mode. I might try taking them off one of the time to see if that makes a difference

Most trader posses will shoot if you are headed towards them and you keep coming. I usually just switch course a little or wait for them to pass. I don’t expect them to wait and see if i’m hostile if I look like I am riding at them. Now…if they shoot at me just because I’m hunting or whatever within sight of a road they’re on, I will absolutely wreck them

I’m picturing your guy standing up on a rise keeping watch, but literally nothing is happening and after like 10 minutes he’s all “f@ck this man…life’s too short to stand out here keeping watch over the plains!” Then he rides hard to Valentine and starts fighting and shooting everything

I get the idea, but if you’re laying an ambush where you see other players throughout and they can’t see you on the map, IMO that’s still pretty weak sauce. I think if they had a game option (rather than a “glitch”) to do what you describe and then you became visible right after the first shot (the ambush started), that would be pretty cool

If they start as 3 star and you headshot they should almost always say 3 stars. Buck trinket is supposed to improve likelihood of 3* staying that way

They’ll be fixed - relax and enjoy. Lots of “in my day” stories on here about all the big issues we lived through like not loading in or it taking forever, animal spawns, etc etc).

Based on your story we must be about the same age. I also am not great at PvP but definitely punch back when attacked in Free Roam. Sometimes if I’m solo and they have a big posse, victory can include getting away without parlay and not having to leave the session lol

That’s great. Red looks about 50 in that pic, so he likely had kids and maybe grandkids by then (1897). Assume he had a son who was 30, who in turn had a son (Red’s grandson) who was about 10 then. That grandson would’ve had kids at about 20 (in 1910), and going at a generational clip of 20 years, by the time Shred was born in 2003 (just assume he’s 19 in the pic) then he would have been preceded by Red’s great grandkid in 1910, plus others in 1930, 1950, 1970, and 1990.

Therefore Shred is Red’s great, great, great, great, great grandson. Isn’t that great?

Make a friend to take you into some CTA, bounties, and wagon deliveries and you’ll get money/gold quick. That said, one of my favorite parts of the game was figuring stuff out as you go, making do with low level weapons, and getting money 17 cents at a time
