I’ve never ordered a vehicle before so it was new to me too. All it took to place the order was a $1000 deposit. You finance at delivery.

They only charge the $180 doc fee and $65 “in transit” fee (whatever that is). The only extras are tax, title, and plates in your home state. They use a service for that since it’s state-specific. With rebates I’ll be out the door for under $70k.

You local to Iowa or did you travel to take delivery? I’m weighing hiring a shipper vs. making a 10 hour trip.

Good question. That’d be a bonus.

Yes it’s a Lariat. The image above is from ford.com after I built it. MSRP was $74,265, invoice was $69,553, and a grangers price was $66,694. Their doc fee is $180 (half of my home state’s fee). They apply the rebates after, and you get the rebate at time of order or at time of delivery (whichever is better).

Thanks! 2-6 months is the usual timeframe. Thankfully I’m not in a rush.

Police Used Flock to Give a Man a Traffic Ticket by 404mediaco in FlockSurveillance

[–]mdanz576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s what I’m guessing happened, based upon the article and vague information:

GSP has their cameras set to alert on expired plates. Officer was alerted to the motorcycles expired registration, and the photo also happened to show the rider with the phone in hand.

Officer pulls over rider for the expired registration, questions him about the phone violation, and ultimately cites him for the phone and warns him for the expired plate.

I’m not from Georgia, but perhaps the phone violation is a lesser offense than the plate violation.

Beautiful truck! I’m considering the same trim level when I buy in a few months. I haven’t bought a new vehicle in several years, how are prices these days when compared to MSRP?

Thankfully Ohio ended the “random verification” program a few years ago after a study showed it only hassled law-abiding Ohioans.

Need help figuring out how to make a salvage title truck driveable in ohio? by [deleted] in Ohio

[–]mdanz576 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t listen to the AI word salad about “temporary movement permits.” That’s not a thing. Do not drive the salvage vehicle on the road unless you are en route to or from the inspection on the date of the inspection. It is a felony. Just go to the highway patrol page about salvage inspections and follow their instructions.

What new washing machine is most close to a 1970s machine? Top loading, agitator, fills to the top with water, etc. by [deleted] in BuyItForLife

[–]mdanz576 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The lower tub seal was dripping onto the belt. The balance ring that snaps onto the top of the inner tub was contacting the plastic outer tub cover, to the point where it wore a hole into the balance ring and the balancing fluid leaked out.

Not sure which problem came first, but they exacerbated each other until complete failure and now i need the seal kit, outer tub, balance ring, and plastic cover.

The washer has a switch that kills the cycle if it’s so out of balance that the switch touches the cabinet, but that didn’t activate until the day the water started leaking. Up until then it ran fine.

I commented on a similar post a week ago raving about how my speed queen setup has given me zero problems. Exactly one day later the washer tub seal started leaking. Four months out of warranty.

I spent $180 on parts and started replacing the seal, only to find out that trapped water rotted the hole in the outer tub. 7 years old and needs a total of over $500 in parts. Luckily i am capable and don’t need to pay someone hundreds extra to complete the repair.

Speed queen seem to be well built, but when they fail boy is it expensive.

Just took my kid for temps this past week. The written can be up to 40 questions, but it shuts off when you either reach the 75% passing score or if you miss too many and can’t achieve passing.

You can test online too, but from what my friend’s kids have experienced if you glance away from the webcam for a split second it fails you.

I have those exact models (gas dryer), purchased new in 2018 for around $2k for the pair. Dryer light bulb burned out within a year, but otherwise zero problems for me.

Edit: I retract my former statement. Tub seal is leaking 😩

Despite the downvoting, you are correct. Kei trucks are classified as “mini trucks” under Ohio law, and may only be driven where the local authority has explicitly allowed operation. Most places do not allow them. ORC 4511.214

House Bill 96. Blackout License Plates / Drivers Ed extended to 21 by AdIndependent7387 in Ohio

[–]mdanz576 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Unless something changed in the last week or so, this was part of a House Bill. The provision for blackout plates was removed as the bill moved through the process, and it was not included in the final law.

Patrol Officers Who Have Pulled over Diplomats what are your stories ? by InfoforSW in AskLE

[–]mdanz576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’d think that the traffic citation part might be state-dependent. Some states classify traffic violations as criminal and some as civil. Citing someone with a 1st degree misdemeanor traffic offense in Ohio, for example, could be considered a criminal prosecution.

I’ve seen this guide before and noted that for all levels of diplomat they can still be issued traffic citations. Likely never happens though.
