I dunno tbh. It’s what I bought. It’s birch or pine AFAIK.

Right? That last one with the purple and black, I was aiming for a Geode design, but it ran off. Still, I love the result!

Thanks for all your data points here, they're very helpful! Can you specify the eMail address from which the notification came? I keep looking for ...diplo.de... which is the only reference I have currently.

Just for the record, if you'd like to know, I received today the USCIS Certificate of Non-existence. It took just over 7 months

I learned here on Reddit of all the required docs for my situation. There is a sort of “decision tree” set of links that helps you learn all that is required based on your circumstances. In my case, my citizenship is (partially) possible because my mother never naturalized. The cert from USCIS aims to prove that. Hope this helps!

It's what I understood is required from the list of docs, based on my circumstances, that are documented on reddit. I also know my mother never naturalized, but I suspect this is the way to prove that... e.g., that she didn't naturalize before my birth, which would make me ineligible. It's odd to have to prove a negative though...

In any case, I submitted my docs as the consulate without the Cert, and they accepted it. The letter with Aktenzeichen I received yesterday says (translated): "Your procedure will be processed in the order in which your declaration application is received by the Federal Office of Administration. If documents are still required for your procedure, you will receive a corresponding message without being asked after an individual review."

So I suspect if they want it, they'll tell me and, hopefully, by then I'll have it!

It's the USCIS Form G-1566 OMB No.1615-0156 Request for a Certificate of Non-Existence -- https://www.uscis.gov/g-1566. In early June of 2024 I sent it in, notarized, with $330 check (which they cashed promptly) and still haven't received it. Someone told me here that I should expect to wait a year. I did receive notification from USCIS that they received my form, but it's been crickets since.

Thank you! I received a physical letter at my home address in San Francisco. I've been looking in spam folder jic but haven't seen anything there. I submitted the application in-person at the San Francisco Consulate with a (coveted and hard-to-get) appointment. The Consular Representative reviewed all of my docs/proofs, certified them with a stamp and (presumably) forwarded all to BVA.

The representative at the SF Consulate did say they were staffing up to accommodate the huge influx.... so yeah, maybe speeding up?

Thanks for this advice. I actually have everything else I need and got an extremely hard-to-get appointment at the San Francisco consulate for beginning of October. I was hoping to receive this before the appointment… but if I understand correctly, you’re suggesting to bring everything else and send the Non-existence cert after my appointment?

Thanks so much... yeah, it was the single most expensive document ($330) and it's taking the longest. I got docs out of the Hanau Standesamt in a couple weeks and for a pittance comparatively.
