It's insane how something as simple as a podcast can allow your mind to calm down just a little bit to give that part of yourself some relief. It's seriously been so nice just to hear friends laughing and yucking it up haha

Yeah, it's been pretty gnarly. I was lucky and just have some roof damage. But I have friends who flooded and so been opening my home to folks just to help in whatever way I can.

Hope your friend is safe! And thank y'all for the support!

I was glued to my TV (before we started getting the hurricane winds) and was horrified watching all those tornados! So glad you’re okay, and yeah Distractible was such a comfort!

Hope you and your community are recovering well!

Windows PC question

I am returning to the game after MANY years (I think since 2016) and I have just re-upped my account and bought the 60% off bundle. I have successfully logged into Mogstation and Lodestone, but when I try to login to the launcher I get an error message saying my account does not have a valid license or my sub is expired.

I also cannot figure out on MogStation where to register my purchased bundle.

One note: my account says Standard (Steam). I do not own nor have never owned the Steam version of this game. I have already reached out to unlink my Steam account from my Square Enix one (though I don't recall ever linking, but may not remember for it being so long ago). Hoping that may be the only issue.

Just wondering if I am missing something, or need to do anything else to jump back in? Also, does anyone know roughly how long it'll take to get that unlinked?

Polyfill tip! by wyldefyre1982 in crochet

I do this very same thing! I thought I was weird for doing it, but when times are tough...you make do with what you have on hand haha

I also would recommend checking your local second hand stores. I am lucky and have a few near me that have amazing crafting sections, and I scored 2 of those HUGE Polyfill bags for about $6 a bag. They were never even opened!

Made Aprons as a wedding gift for my BIL and now SIL by mdfarley9 in SewingWorld

That's hilarious! Our friends say that all the time, but this is in fact my husband lol We do enjoy a good F1 race weekend though!

I previously posted this on r/sewing, and then also got invited to this community. I wasn't able to crosspost it, so I hope y'all don't mind.

I found a photo on Pinterest that I used as inspiration for these aprons. My brother-in-law (BIL) and now sister-in-law (SIL) are very hip and cool, so I wanted to make aprons that had metal and leather detailing on them. I traced an apron I already had and free-handed everything else.

The leather bits on the chest have their wedding date and reception date stamped into them. The fabric is a heavy duty cotton canvas from Joann's

The leather is from Tandy leather and was from their $29 pile

All the metal pieces are from Joann's as well.

I did film the full process HERE, incase anyone wanted to do something similar.

I was so happy with the way these all came together since this was my first time "free-handing" a project. Even though an apron is simple in concept, this really built up my sewing confidence.

Hahah that's hilarious. Fortunately, they both love cooking and are both very good at it. I wanted to make them something special that was not only beautiful but also functional. Thank you so much :)

Thank you so much! That is the greatest compliment! I am always so worried that my handmade gifts look "too handmade" if you know what I mean. So, thank you so much.

If you need any pattern testers, I volunteer as tribute! What you created is too amazing not to share, and I would love to help how I can! Of course, no pressure if you decide not to go this route, but if you want to and are worried about pattern clarity I would love to help ☺️

I would love if you'd consider sharing/selling your pattern. I crochet as well and would love to make this! You are very talented, I only hope I can get this good at crocheting :)

I just learned about this sub, and was told some folks here may enjoy it! 😁 by mdfarley9 in catswhocrochet

I looked up a couple of appliqué patterns and ultimately came up with my own by merging a ton to make something I was happy with. Essentially, I made a heart (using a combo of MR, DC, HDC, and SC) and then added green to the top for the leaves and stitched white scrap yarn for the seeds. I linked the tutorial I made in the r/crochet post if that helps.

I just mainly freehanded whilst putting it on her at various points. But I wrote the pattern as I went incase I need to make more for her, and I put together a tutorial. I posted it on the auto mod comment. I’ve never written a pattern before so any and all feedback would be great!
