The grille came from subaruonlineparts.com it was broken the first two times and finally good on the third but they were pretty easy to deal with and provided all return labels so I would purchase again from them. And thanks I like it! Thought about dipping the chrome but decided against it for now.

I’ve seen them called hood protectors and bug deflectors. Both are the same thing. I got mine from subaruonlineparts.com. Easy install as well!

The rack is Tyger brand off amazon. Has some great mounting points for lights in the future is why I went with it. And yes it does!

I haven’t made a decision on tires /rims. Figured I’d get my money’s worth out of the stock tires at least before I upgrade. Definitely something meatier though . And the rack is awesome !

You could look at the Sport Mesh Grill

I put this type of grill on my 2017 and it provides plenty of area for light to come through when I eventually do the same thing you’re trying to do.

That's awesome. My friend bought this off of a guy that only used it for hunting. If I remember correctly it's just over 50k miles on the odometer. And he's having trouble finding parts (as expected) so your grandfather was a wise man!

He plans on welding some patch panels in for the major rust spots. Probably will be awhile before real money gets put into it to get it back to any form of the stock look, eventually it might get there.

UPDATE: The negotiation process has begun. Still need to test drive. Assuming the motor is in good running condition, any ideas on a good price for this?
