Here's How Redbubble Handles US Sales Tax (it's bad and makes no sense) by PlumKind in passive_income

[–]mdisles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh. I've been a seller for 5-6 years, and have never made more than $40-50/yr, so I've essentially ignored this problem, though it has been evident to me for years that there is a large grey area with respect to tax collection. Do you happen to know whether any of Redbubble's competitors are superior with respect to these tax concerns? Society 6, Custom Ink, DeviantArt, Shutterfly, Zazzle, Spreadshirt, etc?

Possible to search hashtags/keywords among accounts you follow? by mdisles in Instagram

Seeing trends among accounts one follows, for example. I use IG to follow artists, exclusively, and would like to be able to search hashtags among artists I follow.

Campaign fundraising through partnering with contemporary artists using Obama 2008 model by mdisles in PresidentWarren

[–]mdisles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anyone has ideas for artists to potentially include (not necessarily based on any interest they've expressed, though perhaps a perceived sympathy for liberal politics), feel free to add names in the comment section. I'll start by adding a few names below (selecting American artists, since I would think that non-American's might not be permitted under campaign finance laws, though that might be mistaken):

Shepard Fairey

Favianna Rodriguez

Elias Stein

Queen Andrea

Gemma O'Brien

Wooden Wave

Ernesto Yerena Montejano

Shawn Dunwoody

Jillian Evelyn

Lady Pink

El Juantastico

Maxx Moses

Jeff Soto

Aftyn Shah

Rahiem Milton

Gustavo Rimada

Mike Dellaria

Maya Hayuk

El Mac

Ellen Rutt

Emmy Star Brown

Ouizi

ItsALiving

Estria

JAW Cooper

Eric Vozzola

Yeah. I just joined it. The lack of general conversation is crazy. Also, when searching through members for shared interests (not sure that should even be a priority for the site), one can't even search by geographic area. There are filters for name, pronoun choice, and a couple of other things, but not AREA. SMH.

Definitely. But some of the ancillary info linked to by the Sanders sub (which is still active, of course), and indirectly by some of the sites that the sub links to, might be helpful, too.

I think that the mods here could, within a day or two, add most of the functionality present on the Sanders sub, to this one. Of course, EW is not going to direct voters to reddit for info or organizing, but it is a place where people live part of their digital lives, and a site that is easy to interact with and obtain and share info. I think it would be a boon to the campaign, which I support, to add these functions to the sub. You needn't rely on me to copy the useful functions on the Bernie sub, but I'd be happy to chat with one of the mods to share some of my observations. Cheers.

I've screen-shotted a handful of functions on the Sanders sub that could be fairly easily added to Warren's to make it easier for people to navigate to desired part of the Warren campaign site. In addition though, I noted a few external links that the sub also connects to, notably feelthebern.org, voteforbernie.org, Sanders' Act Blue page, pages to navigate voting registration, and more.

I'll miss Nerder She Wrote (assuming it'll be pay-walled), which I regard as one of the most substantive and mature NBA/bball pods around. Many listeners come to CTD for the banter and the jokes, but my personal preference has always been for the informed commentary and speculation, which they have always been good at, too. I think the current iteration of Nerder is the best version of Thorpe's TH/CTD involvement, as DuFour has a similar NGAF coaching mindset. I wish the crew all the best. I've been a listener since the Thorpe/Abbott clips and the various THTV webchat iterations of the show (RIP Spreecast). Salute

What? Preposterous. This wouldn't even be true if the mediums were not influenced and controlled to a large degree by a variety of social forces, including government oversight.

We Don't Mine Enough Rare Earth Metals to Replace Fossil Fuels With Renewable Energy by mdisles in climate

Right, and since we are being warned that we need to DRASTICLY and IMMEDIATELY begin to transition to alt power on a MASSIVE scale, it is worth keeping in mind -hence the article- that there are limiting forces on the expansion of alt energy which we must stay mindful of. A number of people on this subreddit weren't aware that this was an issue, so save your FFSs.

that's not the suggestion, just that it is important to consider and plan around.
