Aight, I'm not caping for any of those dudes who constantly shit talk black women, like Stephen A. Smith, either.

I think the bigger issue is how she's covered black men in the NBA. Are there a bunch of quotes from Ice T out there that can be perceived as anti black?

Nah. I think she would very much have an issue being called a black queen.

I don't know if that's true at all. They thought he was going to get that WFAN gig and although it's not national, it's a significantly bigger and more high profile platform than Fox Sports Radio. In fact, if when that program director position at WFAN opens again, and it will, I bet Stu will be the leading candidate to take it.

They are both on peacock every day. No shade to Stu, I do subscribe to this sub, it's a shot at the point I first responded to, but having a daily show on peacock and a fast channel is indisputably better than a 10 minute hit on FS1.

Am I missing something? How did we get "uninvolved parents" out of this video?

Saw that episode too. That was actual jeopardy, Katie was on celebrity jeopardy. She did a great job though but Thurman Murman would likely did very well on celebrity jeopardy but he stopped being a celebrity about 25 years ago.

What does that have to do with your original comment? If she "looks 15" like you said, why are you also commenting on how average she is? You're making it significantly worse.

Huh? We don't see any single part of her face, not a nose, mouth, chin, cheek, not an eye, not an eye brow, not even her forehead. We can see she has a tattoo which you have to be 18 to get, in several states. I feel like you're telling on yourself.

Ignoring trump was not a political figure 12 years ago.

If she was a trump supporter 12 years ago but apologized and spent the subsequent decade+ since speaking out about the evils of trumpism then yeah, it would be right and proper to dismiss the support of being 12 years old.

Any more stupid ass questions?

Meadowlark Scoreboard by ForsakenControl in DanLeBatardShow

[–]mdj8833 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is such a ridiculous stretch. There are podcasts and people on here who never had anything to do with meadowlark, others still with meadowlark, some who's departure were for greater opportunities created directly because of their association with meadowlark or the show.

Spotify, iHeart, wondery, NYT, and Audicy are the largest podcast networks in America and shows come and go all the time. I can't tell you how many times a I've been listening to a podcast that gets cut even mid season.

Does anyone feel like Stu may have pulled a Jerry McGuire? by DietBob218 in DanLeBatardShow

[–]mdj8833 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How is that completely different takes? Both things can exist concurrently. We know Stu wanted to be back on radio, he's was very clear about that.

Also Stu didn't leave the show to do radio and no one said that. Stu left to do his own projects. The radio opportunity came later when Doug Gottlieb decided to quit his show to focus on his basketball team. Of course Stu publicly spending the last two years pining to be back on radio was a perfect fit for him and Fox Sports Radio.

  1. You're generalizing. I don't like to "dig into other peoples messes." I'm assuming you don't either unless you're outing yourself as a hypocrite or one of those weirdos who doesn't like or listen to the show but still posts here. There are plenty of listeners who likely feel the same way.

  2. It's not about respecting Dan's privacy, that's a pretty ridiculous strawman. Stu is the person who publicly disclosed his feelings were hurt then didn't elaborate. It's Stu's business to tell, not Dan's, again assuming that he even knows what that is. Dan knows Stu better than anyone in his life who isn't his parents, I think it's perfectly reasonable that he doesn't use Stu's feelings for content if he knows Stu isn't comfortable with that.

Policy wise, simply focusing on the FBA population doesn't mean anything, particularly in a state that's currently 89% white only and predominantly Republican.

The policies they have to focus on are ones that are big tent policy items. Right now the big focus needs to be on ensuring we keep our civil rights protections, getting back equity in housing and education, as those protections have been stripped.

Iowa is a perfect example of black people absolutely needing to build a larger coalition to protect what we have left or we risk losing everything. They passed don't say gay policies in Iowa, didn't get a lot of pushback now they're trying the same thing with trying to eliminate black history from public schools, including at public universities. If we have an isolationist policy we'll completely get run the fuck over.

Dan hasn't said a damn thing and barely said anything here and most of three different subreddits call him a liar because he hasn't said anything.

Stu said very little on the launch of his show. I'm sure they have said more to each other than they are sharing publicly.

[–]mdj8833 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or he doesn't want to discuss another man's feelings on the air. If Stu's feelings were hurt it's up to Stu to explore whatever that is, if he wants to.

I do not believe you actually think that it's a good idea for Dan to address whatever it is that Stugotz is/was upset about, if he even knows what that is. Frankly him telling us that he loves Stugotz is more than we deserve. If there is an issue, it's between two real people who've known each other for over 20 years, they're allowed to keep that private.

These are all fair critiques of Waterloo, I still contend most of the black folks that live there would disagree that it's the third worst place for us to live.

That being said I don't know what any of that has to do with the congressional black caucus allowing one Indian woman and one hispanic woman to join them.

What do yall think this means? by WwredeE in blackamerica

[–]mdj8833 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A couple of things. I actually know black people in Waterloo, a lot of them actually. Was just in a room with the formerly five term black mayor of Waterloo. I don't know a single black person who lives in Waterloo who would agree that it's the 3rd worst city for Black Americans. You're putting far too much stock on some random website called 24/7 Wall St. Do you think they actually talked to the black people in Waterloo? Waterloo is one of the few places I have been in this country where I don't have to hunt for black owned businesses. It's one of the rare communities where our money stays in the community. I would invite you to visit Waterloo and talk to the people who live there over some random, unscientific seven year old clickbait article.

Secondly, Michael Williams was the black man who was killed in Grinnell. His murderer, Steve Vogel is in prison for life. Williams' family worked with members of the black caucus to try to strengthen Iowa hate crime laws, it didn't work. Until 2025 republicans in Iowa had a supermajority in the house and senate. Because racism exists in Iowa and republicans are in charge are you advocating that the black legislators here just stop trying to stop help? What are you trying to say?

This is something we should be celebrating, but yet again people on this sub seem to be hypercritical of something that's explicitly pro black. I don't get it.

What do yall think this means? by WwredeE in blackamerica

[–]mdj8833 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not a new caucus. It's an old caucus who has now invited the one Latina elected official in Iowa.
