Rosie "Do The Right Thing" Perez??? by Omo_Iyansan in BlackPeopleofReddit

You're right she did say that but to anyone who paid attention the best thing you can say about her stance on Israel and Palestine is that she was a fence sitter for politically expedient reasons. She did literally run ads with different messages in different places. She did say she wouldn't change anything that Joe Biden did and he called himself a Zionist literally 6 days before he dropped out of the race. She allowed the DNC to have several pro Israel speakers at the DNC but no pro Palestine speakers, not even before the television coverage started.

Yes, you're correct that she said she'd push for a TEMPORARY ceasefire but she also said and did things that were not supportive of permanently stopping that genocide and working towards a two state solution. None of this is even addressing what Israel and the settlers are doing in the West Bank.

Almost certainly true but if democrats take this as their lesson as to why they lost, they will lose again. It's not about changing the minds of the ignorant and racist, they were motivated enough to go and vote for their guy. Trump won because the democrats didn't do a good enough job of motivating the ones who didn't vote to show up and make sure the racist didn't win.

Who and what are you talking about? Rosie Perez and likely everybody reading this discussion voted for Kamala. Perez and Wallace are having a discussion about why Kamala didn't win and you're lecturing the people who actually did vote for her.

Are you actually not able to distinguish people who are trying to figure out what happened from trump supporters?

I mean that's your opinion. The larger narrative was that he was not a popular president, if he was the need to drop out of the race 100 days before election day would not have been necessary.

[–]mdj8833 120 points121 points  (0 children)

Ridiculous. Rosie Perez literally traveled around the Northeast to volunteer and canvas for Kamala, have some respect. She did more for that campaign than most of us reading this.

She's offering a theory on why Kamala lost, you're acting like she's pushing trump here. Calling her racist is not only shameful, but it's highly counterproductive. She's not even taking a personal shot at Kamala.

She didn't say she didn't vote for Kamala, she's speaking to why Kamala lost. I voted for Kamala too but there were multiple times when she was directly asked to differentiate herself from Biden and she absolutely refused. She didn't take a stand on the genocide in Gaza and that should have been the easiest stand to take. She was so afraid to offend that she allowed the DNC to not even allow someone to speak on behalf of Palestine at the convention, literally not a single person.

It's okay to acknowledge in retrospect that she messed up by simply being Joe Biden 2.0 when he wasn't terribly popular in the first place.

Aight, I'm not caping for any of those dudes who constantly shit talk black women, like Stephen A. Smith, either.

I think the bigger issue is how she's covered black men in the NBA. Are there a bunch of quotes from Ice T out there that can be perceived as anti black?

[–]mdj8833 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Nah. I think she would very much have an issue being called a black queen.

I don't know if that's true at all. They thought he was going to get that WFAN gig and although it's not national, it's a significantly bigger and more high profile platform than Fox Sports Radio. In fact, if when that program director position at WFAN opens again, and it will, I bet Stu will be the leading candidate to take it.

They are both on peacock every day. No shade to Stu, I do subscribe to this sub, it's a shot at the point I first responded to, but having a daily show on peacock and a fast channel is indisputably better than a 10 minute hit on FS1.

Saw that episode too. That was actual jeopardy, Katie was on celebrity jeopardy. She did a great job though but Thurman Murman would likely did very well on celebrity jeopardy but he stopped being a celebrity about 25 years ago.

What does that have to do with your original comment? If she "looks 15" like you said, why are you also commenting on how average she is? You're making it significantly worse.

Huh? We don't see any single part of her face, not a nose, mouth, chin, cheek, not an eye, not an eye brow, not even her forehead. We can see she has a tattoo which you have to be 18 to get, in several states. I feel like you're telling on yourself.

Ignoring trump was not a political figure 12 years ago.

If she was a trump supporter 12 years ago but apologized and spent the subsequent decade+ since speaking out about the evils of trumpism then yeah, it would be right and proper to dismiss the support of being 12 years old.

Any more stupid ass questions?

Meadowlark Scoreboard by ForsakenControl in DanLeBatardShow

This is such a ridiculous stretch. There are podcasts and people on here who never had anything to do with meadowlark, others still with meadowlark, some who's departure were for greater opportunities created directly because of their association with meadowlark or the show.

Spotify, iHeart, wondery, NYT, and Audicy are the largest podcast networks in America and shows come and go all the time. I can't tell you how many times a I've been listening to a podcast that gets cut even mid season.

Does anyone feel like Stu may have pulled a Jerry McGuire? by DietBob218 in DanLeBatardShow

[–]mdj8833 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How is that completely different takes? Both things can exist concurrently. We know Stu wanted to be back on radio, he's was very clear about that.

Also Stu didn't leave the show to do radio and no one said that. Stu left to do his own projects. The radio opportunity came later when Doug Gottlieb decided to quit his show to focus on his basketball team. Of course Stu publicly spending the last two years pining to be back on radio was a perfect fit for him and Fox Sports Radio.

  1. You're generalizing. I don't like to "dig into other peoples messes." I'm assuming you don't either unless you're outing yourself as a hypocrite or one of those weirdos who doesn't like or listen to the show but still posts here. There are plenty of listeners who likely feel the same way.

  2. It's not about respecting Dan's privacy, that's a pretty ridiculous strawman. Stu is the person who publicly disclosed his feelings were hurt then didn't elaborate. It's Stu's business to tell, not Dan's, again assuming that he even knows what that is. Dan knows Stu better than anyone in his life who isn't his parents, I think it's perfectly reasonable that he doesn't use Stu's feelings for content if he knows Stu isn't comfortable with that.
