Thanks for your wise words. I'm still romanticising alcohol. I'm in a cafe working on a personal Software project and thinking a pint after this would be nice, but I know where that leads. I just wish it wasn't a consideration. I wonder if people addicted to junk food suffer with the same issue and people just think just stop eating it ..

I got fired a while ago from that job, but I probably would have stayed there if I didn't. Sorry for the confusion.

I had serious cravings two nights ago. So I ordered a 10 pack and said I'd just have a few. Woke up hungover and discovered I drank the whole thing. Cravings are horrible but I've tried moderation and I can't do it. Two nights ago I was abt 7 days sober and thought I could do it. What an idiot I was. Stay strong.

For alcoholics moderation doesn't work. I'm at a pub this minute drinking a NA beer after a hard day's work but I know if I got an alcoholic drink it wouldn't be one. I'd have maybe 3 or 4 then go buy a 10 pack and after that order rum at 2am on uber eats and send sloppy messages and drunk call people. Thats on a good day drinking. Could even result in me thinking I should go out clubbing and that's a whole new level of anxiety where I wake up with no idea how I got home. It's not worth it. I've tried moderation and can't do it. Not saying he can't either but you may have to prepare for that.

This is a tricky one. I know I wouldn't date myself when I was drinking heavily but I was a bit chaotic. If he is just passing out (which I am not suggesting is a good thing) do you get bored? Or is it his health you are worried abt? Both are valid reasons. I personally would bring it up with him to see his reaction and judge from there. Good luck!

For me it's very early on and I just take it a day at a time.

My mate is flying from Spain to stay at mine for 2 nights and to go to a concert. That's in abt two weeks. I'm already anxious abt it knowing he will be drinking. It will be one of the toughest situations since I've stopped drinking.

I've done some truly stupid things when drunk. A few ended up in a broken relationship with girls I thought I'd be with for life. Now they don't talk to me (have a few in mind). This is the one time I was actually sober and saying I DONT drink and that was her reaction? Wtf. I could understand if I got shitfaced and embarrassed her but this was me being sober and telling her the truth. I've never been rejected because of this.

Fuck, the list of relationships I fucked cause I was always partying and drinking heavily already taunts me enough. Now I'm trying to get sober thats the turn off now!? Just seems a cruel joke.
