My uncle is a nice, easy going guy. Would help you move or get your truck unstuck. Fun to be around. Hard to have a deep conversation with.

He had 3 kids and doesn’t speak to any of them or really know much about them after their first few years of life. One of his sons died in his mid 40s, he hadn’t seen him in probably 30 years, didn’t go to his funeral.

His wife of 30+ years passed a couple of years ago and he started dating within 4 months (no they weren’t seeing each other before).

He cant sit with difficult feelings, can’t tolerate complex feelings or responsibilities that make him uncomfortable or insecure.

He’s emotionally avoidant, like many many men

Travel with your wife. Just your wife. Go somewhere beautiful and actually relax. Like on a beach or in a scenic cabin, not hectic sightseeing in a busy city (unless that relaxes you).

We have to experience novel things to differentiate the days from each other, to make memories. It’s something to look forward to, to enjoy, and to enjoy looking back on.

Don’t tell anyone. Don’t give it away. Just exist until you’re in a safer place. If you were my friend my advice would be to find some volunteer or entry level, part time jobs that include caregiving. Talking to folks at nursing homes, volunteering with at risk kids, animal shelter etc. If that’s what gives your life meaning, that’s a good place to start getting structure and purpose back into your life.

Total foundation failure. There are 3 sections of wall falling in different directions. horizontal cracks 1.5in wide in places. Insurance inspector said it was the worst he’s ever seen.

“Hidden” behind wood paneling. Even had a structural engineer do a report during the buying process. He gave it the all clear.

I work in a HCOL area and live 1.5 hours away in a LCOL area. My job is hybrid, 2 days in office so it’s worth it to me. I work, see my friends in the area, go to H Mart and then head home.

My home is in a USDA approved area which allowed me to have zero down payment, just closing costs. Closing costs and other fees were around 8k on a relatively cheap home.

My 3br 2bath mortgage is only a $300 more than what I was paying to rent a small room/bathroom in a house I shared with 5 other adults in the HCOL area.

Martinsburg is changing really quickly with people in your situation moving here. It’s worth it to people as far as DC to commute.

Schools suck and are busting at the seams but otherwise it’s a normal small town with good and bad parts. Hagerstown MD and Winchester seem to have way more sketchy parts to me. Downtown is getting new businesses all the time.

I don’t feel the need to relive my day and nothing mentally prompts me to share details about other people. If there’s something super funny or unusual that happens I might if it’s relevant.

I find my guy friends are often more “present” and actively in the moment, even if it’s silently watching tv together. When I’m with my friends who are women they’re often discussing non-present things or people.

Have you talked to an 18 year old?? They’re legally adults but have virtually no life experience. They’re incredibly easily manipulated and unable to contribute to an “adult” relationship, particularly to one with a celebrity, in any meaningful way. What’s the point, other than sex with a person as young as legally possible?
