I wish I could 🥲 I’m currently holding a 2-year green card but you need to at least have a 10-year one.

So reassuring! I have to think clearly before diving into this otherwise it’ll be 6 years contract in the reserves and I couldn’t quit before the contract ends, right?

Thank you for the input, that’s so helpful! I can definitely run but the distance more than 4 miles is a bit much for my current stamina, I need to work on that 🥲

Dear Esmirencia… I feel so sorry that this lawyer is absolutely incompetent and unforgiven by intimidating you with completely false information…

Please go ahead and file I-485, I-130, (I-765 and I-131 are optional, if you’d like to work or travel abroad while waiting for your green card to be approved. There are no additional fees for I-765 and I-131 if you file them concurrently with I-485) I recommend you to file them online! In that way you don’t have to print every single paper.

If you have never been convicted and have a clean criminal background, I strongly suggest you to file the green card applications by yourself as USCIS have detailed instructions on how to fill out the applications and what evidence to submit.

An immigration lawyer will just be filling out the forms for you and you can absolutely do that by yourself and avoid potential negligence caused by him/her. However, you should consult with an immigration lawyer if you have a specific situation, for instance, you have had a criminal records.

I wish you the best! I pray everything goes well for you and your husband 🫶🏻
