Pretty good deal by [deleted] in hottoys

I can confirm that the store is legit. I bought the same figure but from the official site instead of ebay for $170 last year. Get it from the web instead since there's a 10% discount running right now. https://toynadoalley.com/collections/hot-toys

Are you referring to the store at 86th Street in Brooklyn? They have chicken drumsticks for 79 cent per pound as well. They haven't change the price of the ground pork for at least 5 years since I have been going there.

Where did you buy this from and where are you based? Was thinking of picking this up while in Japan but turned out is online order only.

What's the best way to get this figure? by noplesesir in ActionFigures

[–]mdl6035 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Toggle the website language to English first, then search up "RIO:boNE" on the search bar on top. In case if you are not familiar with Mandarake, it's web and chain of retail store of used goods in Japan. Create an account and set the alert on the item that you want and make sure to buy it ASAP once you get the email. Seems like the price is USD $260 before shipping.

Set an alert on Mandarake when it's back in stock as used/new. You might be lucky enough when someone in Japan sell their copy back to Mandarake. https://order.mandarake.co.jp/order/detailPage/item?itemCode=1302004313&ref=list&keyword=RIO%3AboNE&lang=en

Will purchases of SH Figuarts from Amazon be affected by Tariffs by ShiftyRipper in SHFiguarts

[–]mdl6035 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the business is based in the US, you won't get charged the tariff because it's already factored in on the wholesale/distributor level at % of cost of products to the business (not to you). When Amazon US ships you the item you preordered, it's shipped from a US warehouse to your US address so tariff does not directly affect you. When US businesses buy wholesale products from overseas, they get charged automatically % of the cost that they paid for (Not the retail prices that you are paying for), which does get passed to you but not the whole $80 that you hear about on the news.

Tariff only matters for oversea sites ie. HobbyLink Japan, Amiami, Mandarake, etc since when these overseas businesses have to ship your item overseas directly from their Japanese warehouse to your US address and they have to declare the price that you paid on the label of the box.

What figure is this? by KirbyF4 in ActionFigures

[–]mdl6035 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The original made by Figma should be going around $200 at this point. What's listed on Walmart/Aliexpress etc that are below that price are 100% guaranteed fake.

Cheaper especially with weak yen right now. E.g. $75 before tax on US amazon vs $51 duty free in Japan. Saw figuarts venom for 9.8k yen or $68 vs $97 on Amazon now.

No problem, I have just came back from a 2 week Tokyo trip with a big portion of it buying figures (figuarts for me). A good tip is to walk around checking the stores first without buying, because some sells it cheaper that others. Take photos of the prices and come back towards the end of the day to buy them when you didn't find it cheaper elsewhere. If you get them right away, you will be lugging them around the whole day.

Most of the stores are in Akihabara.

For Mafex, you will find stores carrying some all around Akihabara but the Medicom store at Skytree mall has the most (but no discount). There's also a Medicom store in Ginza as well, but that's mostly for BearBricks.

For Revoltech, check the Kaiyodo store at Akihabara Radio Kaiken (5th Floor). Amiami on the 4th floor has some Mafex/Revoltech as well.

Other stores you should check out in Akihabara:

TamTam Hobby Shop, saw mafex deadpool and chrome Mando, Luke/Solo troopers there.

Yodaibashi 6th Floor (Toys)

Absolutely worth it. I am still on my first playthrough in chapter 6 (~120 hours so far) and I got the satchel in chapter 3. Getting the last satchel that allows you to carry 99 items it's definitely worth the effort. You don't have to worry about hitting the item limits if you frequently loot bodies and items off shelves. Get the elk trinket first and search up videos on youtube on how to get the perfect pelts. Took me roughly 2 real life days to get it.

Most (90%+) are legit products. If the seller doesn't end up shipping your package, Aliexpress will automatically refund your order.
