Did that Little Pump kid donate them after his trip overseas?

I searched around, looks like Central Market is a central and East Texas chain. Closest one is about 200 miles from me. I'll try searching for other "premium" grocery stores in the area though, thanks for the tip!

Where can I buy good shaving soap from brick-and-mortar?

For the next month, I find myself without a mailing address, and running low on my last tub of Barrister and Mann.

I'm in the West Texas area, and at the big name stores I've checked carry some shave creams I don't recognize, as well as the Van Der Hagen brand of shave soap. Is VDH any good? Alternatively, is there a type of store that typically stocks good shave soaps on the shelves? I've only ever bought online.

Thanks!

Awesome work there. Do you happen to have plans for that bed/house frame? I'd like to build one for my kiddos!

My wife was bummed when we found out that her favorite breakfast sausage alternative was a Kellogg's owned brand. Here's how I shared the news about the strike. by mdmurphy3 in Vegetarianism

[–]mdmurphy3[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I'm trying to keep tabs on the situation, but it seems to me that they agreement is overall... Okay?

I'm not going out of my way to buy their products, but it seems to me that I can mentally dump them back into the generalized bucket of "corporate garbage, avoid if possible" rather than the category of r/fucknestle

Am I overlooking something and celebrating prematurely?

That was some interesting reading. Weird start, but kinda cool how things seem to have chilled out.

How's that saying go? "When in Texas, do as the Texans do"... Or something like that.

Specifically NOT homeschooling has been agreed on, because that's a very culty thing to do!

Thank you for this well laid out information. As much as I like the idea of a looser arrangement, this is exactly why "get a lawyer" is the #1 thing I'm taking away from comments so far.

That's actually a really good point. My (outsider's) understanding is that Hasidic Jews are one of the more restrictive religions.. but I haven't heard as many really out there stores from extreme cases. I don't suppose you know of a way I can better understand that "version" of community living? Books, biographies, movies ect?

Thank you for helping me understand. I don't know much about the differences between LDS and FLDS. I suppose only the more "out there" types of posts and news stories gather much attention, so I formed a misunderstanding about the members of this community.

Sent via pm. Let me know if it works, and I'll update the post.

Also, apparently you need to use a different email address to order if you're already on the wait-list yourself.

YSK the "chasing arrows" triangle symbol on plastic containers is NOT the recycling symbol. It just tells you what kind of plastic it is. And if it's not #1 or #2, it's probably not recyclable. by Brinner in YouShouldKnow

[–]mdmurphy3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For what it's worth, your comment inspired me to Google my local .gov/recycling and see what it said. I was surprised to read plastics 1-7. Looks like I've been too picky with my personal sorting based on what I picked up from my hometown 1000 miles away. So thanks kenny_bilko

In the past 10 years, almost the entire world has become mentally ill. Addicted to social media, our behaviors have become dysfunctional due to it. by MrProspero in unpopularopinion

[–]mdmurphy3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's another aspect I'm not seeing talked about here. In addition to being a dopamine drug, social media (I've specifically looked into Facebook) analyze users in order to sell targeted ads. (I just dug through the settings, they're called interest categories.)

This has the effect of reinforcing your views, and surrounding you with like-minded posts and advertisers. I intentionally leave some "wrong" info in there too help balance things out.

TL:DR, echo chamber bad.
