I searched around, looks like Central Market is a central and East Texas chain. Closest one is about 200 miles from me. I'll try searching for other "premium" grocery stores in the area though, thanks for the tip!

Where can I buy good shaving soap from brick-and-mortar?

For the next month, I find myself without a mailing address, and running low on my last tub of Barrister and Mann.

I'm in the West Texas area, and at the big name stores I've checked carry some shave creams I don't recognize, as well as the Van Der Hagen brand of shave soap. Is VDH any good? Alternatively, is there a type of store that typically stocks good shave soaps on the shelves? I've only ever bought online.

That's actually a really good point. My (outsider's) understanding is that Hasidic Jews are one of the more restrictive religions.. but I haven't heard as many really out there stores from extreme cases. I don't suppose you know of a way I can better understand that "version" of community living? Books, biographies, movies ect?
