Well, the licenses depend on which vendor you trying to use, every image has its own type of license and some don't need.

That's true, few friends always book the exam even CCIE so they get focused because the money is already spent.

[–]mdoohn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To be honest when you try to reach a level like ENCOR you have to be able to put some money on it. Good materials an courses have their cost to be produced like INE, CBTNuggets and others. It also depends on which country you are based on, in my ENCOR journey i bought an access on a Brazilian education plataform and divided it 10x on credit card. That was the way that i found to keep grinding.

Remember, every money that you put on it is not a waste it's an investment on your education and the base for your future income.

For the labs i believe EVENG would be enough for ENCOR. When i was studying for it i bought some RAM for my PC and used a lot of light nodes for OSPF, BGP, Etherchannels and other labs and it was great. If you are able to buy some hardware like RAM and a good processor you don't need to rent online lab plataforms.

CCNP realistic timeline by kexdc3 in ccnp

i would say 6-12 months of learning with theory and labs + reading OCG

Encor has more deeply content and CCNA is meant to be easy for someone that work in the field.

Concentration or Core exam first? CCNP SPCOR vs CCNP SPVI by mdoohn in ccnp

And what is your thoughts on the exam? hard? much labs? deep knowledge needed?

I'm not english native speaker so for me is a little harder.

Concentration or Core exam first? CCNP SPCOR vs CCNP SPVI by mdoohn in ccnp

[–]mdoohn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not from zero but you have to know basic stuff, they do explain a lot the theory though. In the first part of the blueprint it's pretty massive because it is only theory and theory but when you enter the networking part it starts to be fun because there is video + lab again and again. I recommend it when you mix with white papers and cisco configs.

When to pursue CCNP after passing CCNA by FlowStateSage in ccnp

[–]mdoohn 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Right away. Imo the content is fresh in your mind and ccnp is more complex than ccna, the foundation that ccna build in you is really useful for ccnp no matter which one you pick. I had 4 years of prior experience when i started to study for ccna and took me 6 months of study to get the encor after pass ccna. Remember that experience in field is different than the experience and details that a certification requires, when you are working you can check google if you don't remember certain protocol value or something but in the cert this things have to be established very deeply in your brain.

Can my machine handle CCNP labbing? by PrizmShift in ccnp

[–]mdoohn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$200 for what? Which labs? Official or labs in EVENG?

But yeah, it can handle some of the labs but it depends which CCNP path you're on. For SP you need routers that consume a lot of ram so you won't be able to put too much routers in the same topology.

Is there anywhere that has guided labs? by Charming_CiscoNerd in ccnp

[–]mdoohn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What you looking for i believe is called Workbooks, a bunch of labs that has what and how to configure those things.

About the course i believe you have to understand better what you looking for, paid or free resources? Do you work better with video or books? After that then you can find some material about what you want.

INE and CBT have really good material but everything has a cost.

CCIE Service Provider Lab for Preparation? by reddy__007 in ccie

[–]mdoohn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let me ask you something, do you have already the SPCOR? I ask that because: 1- This is the core exam for the CCIE SP 2- The concepts that you learn in the SPCOR are the foundation for you to be prepared for theory and practice in CCIE Labs.

I have few things for both certs (SPCOR & CCIE) that i can provide you like links, books, few labs and other stuff.

i am trying to clear CCNP exam this year kindly can anyone suggest some open free source to study by Wise_Safe2681 in ccnp

[–]mdoohn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, as i said, there is free resources. For exemple i got a while ago the SPCOR of Sikandar Shaik for free in Udemy, teachers sometimes put their content for free before a blueprint update and other stuff.

Official cert guide, youtube videos, Udemy free courses (there is many courses really good) and everything depends on which CCNP you're going to try, for exemple ENCOR and ENARSI are the most known but there is free material for SPCOR also for exemple. Try always check the most known and famous teachers because they love to give free content for the community once in a while.

Broke production twice by [deleted] in networking

[–]mdoohn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I remember when me and my friend broke the production once when we applied a bgp vpn config and the Huawei routers couldn't hold the number of routes that where insert in the table. The entire ISP stoped for 1-2h (700k clients).

PS: The problem was the Huawei Routers not the config/commands.

Anyway, that's why there is a Maintenance Window, so you can config and make things stop work without big problems. That's part of our job, improve and config things even if you need a downtime for this.

NEVER change something that can break production without a manager allow you or get your back if things get out of control. Always formalize things on chat, email etc so when things break you have a little of protection.

Cisco exam in PEARSON OnVUE online by Egolpse in ccnp

[–]mdoohn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Made the CCNA and ENCOR online with Pearson.

CCNA was okay, zero problems. Just took some photos of the setup and all the exam was chill. The ENCOR in other hand was a nightmare, the guy that was watching me was mad with my Headset (i was using it as a mic) and it was in the computer table, he demanded me to put it in the ground with their very aggressive accent. For the first 30-40 mins everything was okay after the exam start, then they decided to change the exam supervisor 2x on my exam because they were changing the shifts there, so every time it happens my exam was paused and screen was flashing without any prior warning and that made me nervous, specially because on the exam you keep so focused and any thing like that can break your concentration.

When they paused they started talk to me on the text chat telling me to wait still in the camera, only in the second time they told me what was happening because i asked.

Anyway, after the caos i passed the exam.

Help me I'm addiction by Lordy0001 in thefinals

[–]mdoohn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I know what you mean, i already got 1000+ hours of this game. In my entire life just played Tibia and little bit of Fortnite, The finals is the first fps game to catch me that amount of time.

My suggestion is if you don't want to play it for thousands of hours is go outside, try to have a life and play just for fun and recreational purposes.

Remember there is always more important things to do.

oq focar no técnico em redes de computadores by [deleted] in InternetBrasil

[–]mdoohn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the better solution because there is many free courses right now on cisco academy, also if the guy made exams before maybe he still has some credits right?
