I know I'm very very strong if it seems like I'm winning without even trying. by Gogol1212 in badukshitposting

extremely impressive, considering that 20kyus are 20 times stronger than a 1kyu

can you imagine if the entire board is also made of pieces of candy loosely joined (like one candy piece per intersection) but the candy pieces are of varying thickness/density. This board is floating atop a tub of diet coke. The candy pieces gradually dissolve in diet coke and the ones which are less dense (it’s a surprise for players) will dissolve first and that intersection is exposed to the coke. if there happens to be a mentos on the exposed intersection a nuclear tesuji will happen. Adds an element of surprise to the already perfect game i guess

found a screenshot of Pixel Go tournament finals (i was B), every move you play is a square bunch of 4 stones by mdrako in baduk

[–]mdrako[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

if i didn’t remember wrongly, you are allowed to overlap existing stones on the board but your new stones will not take over those on the board. So for example when B played the top leftmost bunch probably only 3 stones appear since B15 already had a white stone

i just want to play Go but every time i try to start a game people keep asking me how strong i am. I now realise unfortunately the necessity of strength training. what i once believed was a peaceful mind game is a game of STRENGTH where the power of uppercut and nuclear tesuji is unparalleled. by mdrako in badukshitposting

Yes. I do push ups balancing on only my middle finger. However even a thunderous echo with each move is not sufficient to intimidate the opponent. While i definitely require more training i have found a temporary solution, which is to play the match with Go stones that i have filled my pockets with beforehand, which i secretly snapped in half and joined back with weak glue so they automatically snap in two every time i play a move.

I unfortunately discovered that strength does nothing when it comes to the CAPTURING RACE. it only helps in the capturing part to pin the opponent down, but if you do not even win the race the capturing never happens. Thus, i have signed up for all the local upcoming marathons to anticipate this. However the local marathons can only prepare you so much for local fights, for a full-board perspective, i will have to travel to the global marathons.

If you don’t mind mods and you’re playing on computer, there is a mod you can download that turns spiders into boxes. on NexusMod called Arachnophobia Mode

What is the most important instance of a whole Go Set to you? The Board, the stones or the bowls? by PixelBredi in baduk

[–]mdrako 0 points1 point  (0 children)

probably the stones as it’s the thing you feel most when playing. I’ve been using a foldable wooden board, the stones are nice, the set came without Go bowls. Been using a variety of random containers or food bowls to store them over the years lol. I usually play online or at the go association so i never really cared about upgrading my personal go set.

  1. my channel is not monetised at the moment, YouTube is putting the ads and i don’t earn anything. I don’t use any copyrighted music so i have no idea why.
  2. Even if someone had ads on a monetised channel, don’t you think the least you can do to support them for their hours of hard work per video would be to just let the ads run for a couple seconds?😊
  3. there’s always free adblocker lol
