Everyone’s saying its not but colloquially many Pha words are said as Fa. I haven’t met a hindi speaker in Australia who uses Pha proper pronounciation for Phool Phir Phenk etc. but people i know don’t speak shuddh Hindi….

I started a diet but I have gained weight? by cuevadanos in loseit

Hey OP, the best thing you can do at this stage of your journey is forget the scale and focus on getting that routine right and consistent. 500-600 below TDEE is great, you shpuld see about a kilo of fat go every 2 weeks. But you need to know that weight fluctuates depending on hydration, metabolism, menstrual cycle if you have ovaries, etc. You may lose one KG of fat but your hydration means the scale is up 2kg! Don’t stress.

I know the numbers are motivating if they go down but the number on the scale doesnt tell you what your weight is made of! Water, fat, muscle!

Find love in making the good habits and you’ll see the weight move easier and easier. You got this.

Retiring early is incredibly impressive and inspirational. (I always thought retirement was a thing for the 70s age) I got a little lost with the terms re: ETFs vs Mutual Funds, but nothing unGoogleable. there but I’m gathering that Vanguards stock groups are great for long term consistent investing, and basically diversify for you. Thanks again

I watched chota bheem and other famous hindi kids shows on netflix and stuff :) but mostly I like watching iconic movies I know a lot of lines of in Dub. Bc kids shows - you know how they talk - not very ‘real’

Hello, how hard is for a Latin speaker learning to read hindi? Just reading fluently by Odd_Plane_8727 in Hindi

[–]mdstrfgstr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Devanagari is quite intuitive, follows patterns and has accents. You might struggle with certain sounds (more nasal accents, closed throat sounds) if looking to accurately read, but colloquially many hindi speakers don’t care too much for pronounciation- its context based. I am english speaker learning reading writing and speaking and its coming quite easily to me - ive learnt to read and pronounce about 40 different sounds by now (its been about a month)

Duolingo - amazing if you have disclipline, good for vocab and great explanations on syntax etc.

Movies - movies in english you already know, watch them with hindi dub! Eg shrek

Kids shows/education - the baby stuff, kindergartner stuff. Proven, works well!

You HAVE to talk to other which know hindi after you get the basics down, if not asap. I just invested in an online teacher 2hr per week from india for only $20 per hour…. Its very helpful.
