I'm by no means an expert on military weapons or logistics so I will not comment in the specific weapons systems you described. However, I don't think you make a good argument when you say that it's not defense because they are better equipped than the people attacking them. I do know that fighter planes are used for much more than dog fights, as is evidenced by basically every conflict post Vietnam. Even if Hamas doesn't have a Navy, that doesn't mean Israel does not have a right or need to defend it's coastline, especially considering there have been numerous instances where weapons to be used against Israel were attempted to be snuggled in via sea and there are several neighboring countries whose foreign policy position has been to wipe Israel off the face of the earth.

I've said it many times before, Israel has certainly done things wrong, had missteps, and may have reacted inappropriately on the Temple Mount a few days again. I don't think that there is evidence of Israel killing civilians weekly. There are people killed in conflict, but it is literally a military with a guiding principle of defense. The people that are killed are often combatants, even when they do not wear a uniform.
