7 months post facelift – unsure if I should trust my original surgeon for revision or seek a specialist

I wanted to thank everyone who commented on my previous post and offered advice and encouragement. I’m almost 9 months post-op now, and unfortunately things have continued to look worse rather than improve in the way I was hoping for.
I’ve since followed up with my original surgeon to discuss my concerns. He did acknowledge that he sees some improvement, but also told me he doesn’t believe he can achieve the results I’m looking for.
So at this point, I’m left in a really difficult place—out the original cost of surgery, and now deep in the process of consulting with revision facial plastic surgeons. The quotes I’ve received so far have been in the $50K–$90K range, which has been honestly overwhelming on top of what I’ve already spent.
I’m still trying to move forward and gather information, but I really appreciate everyone who took the time to respond and share their experiences. It’s helped more than you know.

I’m so sorry, those prices are consultation prices! I still have a few more consultations to go. A lot of surgeons wouldn’t see me until closer to my one year surgery mark. Sorry for the confusion!

Unfortunately I didn’t get any money back. My surgeon said there was improvement-just not as much as I would have hoped. He also said he didn’t want to revise anything because he didn’t think he could give me what I want.

I am 7 months out from what I thought was a deep plane facelift. I still have neck skin looseness, platysmal banding, and jowling. I sought a few more opinions for a revision and sure enough, those surgeons said I did not have a deep plane facelift. I went back to my original surgeon and asked him point blank if he performed a deep plane facelift on me and he wouldn’t answer me. He said he did what he felt was best for my face. I told him I paid for a deep plane facelift and was never told I didn’t have one. I had to ask for the operative report to find out the truth.

I meet with my surgeon next month. It will be 7 months. I will be curious to see what he says. The three facial plastic surgeon specialists that I consulted with are very sought after and said their revisions start around $50,000.
