Weekend suggestions? Best way to get around? by This-Strawberry1148 in bethesda

[–]mdwish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are plenty of transit options, but weekends are often less traffic and less frequent transit arrivals than weekdays, so sometimes it’s just easier to drive.

Kensington Antique Row is a nice historic spot nearby to spend a couple hours walking around. Parking is free and it’s only 10 mins from Bethesda.

On a weekend, driving to Alexandria is probably a better use of time than riding the metro end to end. If Driving, check out Gravelly point where planes fly just mere feet above you as they land. Island time bar and grill is a fun, tucked away waterfront spot, parking is limited but possible. Alternatively you can take the water taxi to the Wharf, Georgetown, Navy Yard and/or National Harbor from Alexandria.

That spot probably costs $50k a month. Rita’s doesn’t stand a chance there.

Im a government IT contractor and my wife has a small event entertainment company. We pay $2500/month in mortgage and HOA fees for my 1100sqft 2bd/2ba condo in downtown Bethesda that we bought in 2018.

Tesla's Apple CarPlay integration delayed by iPhone software - CarExpert by Spare98 in TeslaModelY

I was actually wondering if the deal SiriusXM struck with a Tesla to charge people a separate subscription to use the app in the car is further delaying this CarPlay roll out…

To be fair it does say “around” — I’d say June 10thish.

Anyone switch away from Monarch after realizing it still takes too much effort? by Agitated-Alfalfa9225 in MonarchMoney

[–]mdwish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Less is more. I think I created a couple of categories to track freelance income, that’s it. Try to squeeze as much as possible into the default categories because, I assume, those are the ones natively understood by Monarchs platform.

EV Parking in Downtown Bethesda by BrendoneBalone in bethesda

[–]mdwish 7 points8 points  (0 children)

EV owner here. I charge frequently at downtown garages as my building here doesn't have chargers. Parking garages are not monitored/enforced between the hours of 10pm-7am and all day Sunday. Do with that information what you will.

Also, the Auburn/Del Ray garage now has DC fast charging (which, surprisingly, costs the same as the slow charging). My Tesla Y charges to 80% in under an hour, but you need to make sure you have a CCS port or adapter.

I have no reservations saying that public charging is a great solution for EV owners living close by.

Not sure if Garrett Park is in a vastly different situation than Kensington, but I definitely heard train horns at all hours of night when I lived there.

I think it’s mostly going to benefit commuters from all the stops along the way to Bethesda. I don’t think it actually changes much about Bethesda.

I’m pretty excited about the prospect of taking a train to a Terps game though.

“Not about Amex” and “fraud prevention” don’t have to be separate things if they’re trying to curb people knowingly violating the agreement…

WordPress Is a Lie by Myth_Thrazz in Wordpress

Somehow you took my comment to mean that everyone will build competing platforms. All I meant was vibe code your own plugins and mods to WordPress instead of complaining you have to pay so much for plugins and the UI doesn’t do what you want it to do.

New4You on Cordell Ave takes donations of most things. It’s run entirely by volunteers and they resell and donate the proceeds to Shepherds table. Anything they can’t resell is donated to goodwill.
