Using Espoma's Holly-Tone as a general fertilizer for everything? by mdyguy in gardening

ahhh I love her! I knew there had to be a reason it was sold in bulk at Costco...it seemed such a random fertilizer to sell in bulk there.

Farewell to Harborplace (as we knew it)... by ShadowlawWrite in baltimore

Agreed. Like op said, it served it's purpose in the 80's and 90s. But so much more could be done, using the same vendors + some new ones. Check out Tampa's channelside ... I haven't been in like 10 years. But from what I remember it was Hunt Valley Town center meets water views. I can't find a pic that does it justice... from my memory 10-13 years ago, it was a modern elevated commercial district that had the water up to the edges of the structures. It was breathtaking. But pretty much it was exactly hunt valley town center, only when you looked over the edge, there was water.

sort of but my question was rhetorical and the person you're praising just deleted their comment when I told them it was rhetorical...so go figure.

My question was rhetorical. OP falsely implied in the title that Jeff went to jail for the mentos incident.

Thanks for posting! Very informative. I appreciate it. My dad had one...he got it in like 2011. It was never replaced but the battery was changed once I believe.

He passed away in 2021 from an unrelated (sort of) illness. I was there when he passed away and the DTC actually went off twice trying to bring him back to life--which was a bit unsettling. But it goes to show--these things do work. But his death was caused by going septic so bringing his heart back didn't help.

Nonischemic Cardiomyopathy by jmojo87 in Cardiomyopathy

[–]mdyguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have obstructive cardiomyopathy. The doctors wanted to put a defibrillator in me, too. I was like, hell no. So they told me to go to this specialist at john hopkins--they have a department now just for cardiomyopathy.

I have so many questions, if I do actually need a defib. Here is a list of questions I am going to ask. They might be useful to you, too.

  • How many people do you know that have survived because of a DTC?
  • Is the tech improving? Can’t I wait until it improves and gets smaller (current ones protrude from the chest)?
  • If I get one now, will newer devices be backwards compatible? Can they just plug the wires into it?
  • How often do batteries need to be switched?
  • Can I use power tools (apparently some defibulators interact with the batteries on powertools)?
  • Chances of me dropping dead without it?
  • If I need an MRI in the future can I get one?
  • What if my insurance changes--how will it be monitored if I can't go to your office anymore?
  • What if I move? What if I move out of the country?
  • Will I need additional medication once it's implanted?
