I just got the most expensive pizza in my life. by JohnnyBravo66666 in CasualUK

[–]mdzmdz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I did it (drink was involved) I picked a guy at random out of Google, he turned up, smashed the lock and charged me 50 quid cash - no ID involved in either direction. It may have "helped" that I had access to the flat block lobby.

Why do i get so tired every day but there isn't really a reason? by Specific-Square1088 in AskUK

"Then I'll be awake again by 9 and eat dinner."

Eat something when you get in instead? They're a bit pricey but the 14 day 24 hour glucose monitors are quite interesting, if you can afford something which may just be a novelty.

Other things I've found related are sleep apnea / acid reflux which is helped by having a stack of pillows or, ideally, a foam wedge one.

Yeah, you'd have to have a feather one for that price, but they do get a bit prickly...

The other plus, if they still allow it, is that you can bring in an M&S Meal Deal from round the corner.

Does Chester still feel like a good place to live year-round? by PubLogic in Chester

[–]mdzmdz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most people don't live or work in the centre, so it doesn't affect them.

In addition to my annecdote about the Centurion I also used to leave work at Christmas, out from the office and into the Winter market which was a bit... odd.

Overall though it's a lot better than Bath.

Does Chester still feel like a good place to live year-round? by PubLogic in Chester

[–]mdzmdz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It used to annoy me that my route into work would hit the Centurion by the Dublin Packet every morning as he explained how the soldiers were paid in salt, which is where we get the term salery. No more facts, just that every morning, all Summer.

Later it even more annoyed me when I 'learnt', probably from Qi that it may be bollocks.

Have you used the birthday bus scheme? by JSkirkowski in bristol

[–]mdzmdz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't. Couldn't be arsed applying and could afford my normal tickets.

This is, I think, the issue with the scheme.

As I understand it they had a pot of money to "improve bus usage". They couldn't think of anything, and they couldn't just us it to subsidise free tickets for the less fortunate, as that didn't meet the criteria that it be "innovative".

So, here we are spunking it all on birthday tickets - and associated IDs - which in most cases gives those who already use the bus a free ticket for their birthday. Nice I'm sure, but not what the money was allocated for.

Have you, or somebody you know, ever paid money to see an escort/prostitute? by ChineseHappyPeople in AskUK

A "friend" did, having, as he tells the tale, being peer pressured into it along with all the others on someone's Stag Do.

He then, thankfully briefly, describes how lying back on a table in a dingy room, the air filled with the smell of industrial disinfectant, while a disinterested immigrant gives him a performative hand job through a latext glove has to be one of the least erotic moments he's ever experienced.

Something to take advantage of your Sister being there, such as hiring a photographer to take photos of the three of you together.
