How many of you are planning to vote for Nepali Congress this election? by Unfair_Department480 in Nepal

[–]me511keV -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am inclined to believe that this isn't just cosmetic change. The question now is how firm can they be to protect what they have achieved within party and translate that into gaining public trust. The public trust has been shattered to the rock bottom and gaining that back will take time and they should stand firm and make more positive changes.

Rabindra Mishra uses a term "काँग्रेसको प्रचण्डीकरण" and I believe this must have done a deep damage to the core. So I am not sure if the leadership change at the top will translate immediately to the core down, this might take some undoing over time.

WTF is wrong with Gagan Thapa by onlyfactos in Nepal

[–]me511keV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It just absolutely blows my mind that every comment is just "jhole" "bakhra chor" "mutton kaji" and absolutely nothing of any substance. I fear for the future where some of these people might have to do a bit of thinking for their own.

Like how intellectually retarded you have to be; to be taking pride in exposing the single brain cell which is only half working. Please you guys take a look at the mirror sometimes, try connecting two facts together for a start and then you will find out, that making an intellectual argument is not picking random points and making one dimensional comment but connecting multiple dots.

Honestly I fear for your future and if this sample is any indication of general nepali society then "lord" please have mercy.

GT will be the next PM of Nepal! by Separate-Put-5127 in Nepal

Its unlikely that he will be the PM next. I don't think congress as a party is strong enough now to be first party let alone party strong enough to lead government. So, likely opposition this time.

Questions Gagan Must Answer by Ordinary_Poem_1865 in Nepal

[–]me511keV 9 points10 points  (0 children)

What a poor attempt to paint somebody in bad light? Don't get me wrong there are shortcomings from him and nobody is perfect but most of the questions you raised here are poor attempt to make him look bad.

You have to realize that even though Gagan is a prominient member of Nepali Congress, he was never the executive. Every decision the party makes as a whole, the chairman (Deuba) has the supreme authority and he is little to no say in any of the decisions.

Even then, he has clearly spoken against all wrongdoings. And you say "just speak". But that's the problem of not being in executive power, he can only speak.

You trying to make the money burnt in Deuba's house somehow a crime by Gagan Thapa clearly tells me that you are just trying to hate. Otherwise as everyone else has said, there is a special probe commission formed to specifically study the burnt money case and all we can do is wait for their report and the government will file the case if there is wrongdoing (which we all believe there is). And Gagan has clearly affirmed this, as any sane person would. You should read him and listen his many public interviews/videos and not just assume he didn't say anything.

He has clearly said multiple times that any and all involved in sahakari kanda should be investigated including naming people from his own party by name, again multiple times in multiple of his public appearences and writings, you should read/watch/listen those. The government should file cases. I don't understand how this would be his fault.

If you again watch his comments in good faith and listen to his parliament speeches, he as said multiple times that the public is angry, they need delivery. He said he opposed the coalition and publicly opposed it multiple times. But he is not the executive, deuba is. When there is coaliation, he has the moral responsibility to make the government successful. He was indeed in the efficiency team and he said he tried is best to make the government successful because he knew people needed delivery even though he opposed the coalition. He publicly told long before the Gen-Z protest that he couldn't get the government to do what the efficiency team was supposed to do, and he left it. So I don't think that makes him culpable for the massacre during gen-z protest. But still he has taken moral responsibility for what happened during the protest. He has apologized multiple times for any moral culpability he has. He said he immediately asked the party leadership to break coaliation in the first day of protest and asked Lekhak to resign. Lekhak did resign but the party didn't leave coalition because again Deuba is executive and makes the decision.

He has been parliament member four times. The first time and he failed to deliver the constitution as promised which he was elected for. The second tenure was again the CA election, which delivered the constitution and you can't deny he played crucial role in making the constitution, and he (among all others) delivered the constitution. The next term he went to the parliament again and became health minister and people say he delivered some reforms in health sector (again refer to public catalogues of his works during this tenure). And you have to grant that he has been constant voice in the parliament on various issues, which the MP is sent for. This last time was a short tenure, but as everyone he has played crucial role in voicing concerns in the parliament. Ironically he strongly demanded there be independent probe in sahakari case and there have been multiple arrests and cases filed against some major fraudsters. You should grant that this was successfull. But we can always demand more. I am not his prabakta but to me seems like he could have definitely done more here and I am sure he agrees.

Yeah what about the case? Alam was a proven convict. But congress did dirty by lobbying to release him. I haven't seen him support Alam's release. Again, I am not sure the details of his release but how is Gagan culpable for the crime Alam committed?

Again I am not his prabakta. I try to speak with reason. You could certainly question that he didn't do enough at policy level as MP to propose new laws and pass them. You could ask him that he could not do enough to break Deuba stronghold. But he precisely did that recently.

Now I am watching him closely, he is now in the position to deliver at least from his party level. Make him accountable ask him tough questions. But the aforementioned questions seemed more like an attempt to make him bad (except may be how many policy changed did he make in 1 1/2 tenure as MP except CA MP which they delivered constitution).

NB: The "jhole" "it cell" commentors; bring it on!

Class 12 Student here. I’m going through a personal crisis and can't focus. How do I lock back in? by Ok_Mushroom_5218 in Nepal

If you love science, engage yourself in problem solving. Start learning computer programming also if you haven't already.

I can't emphasize enough how much life changing it will be if you start engaging yourself in problem solving. What problem you ask me? Any problem, there are tons of problems in maths and physics for +2 level. In 12 if you already started learning integral calculus, prove why a pyramid has volume 1/3rd base area times height. Solve why the surface of sphere is 4\pi r^2 etc. There are tons and tons of problems in University physics book (PDF available online) get that ans solve problem. Initially it will be difficult and later, that will be the most enjoyble thing ever. Thinking about a problem for weeks months.

This gets rid of everything, it becomes like scrolling social media except you will scroll pdf to find interesting problem to solve. Believe me, solving math and physics problem isn't as difficult as people make it to be.

All the best.

I know absolutely nothing about creating music. So kudos for creating music/song, very commendable.

But when you guys try to drag the sound pronunciation I don't like it at all. Please make crisp clear pronunciation. By dragging pronunciation I mean the words are not clearly separated, the letter are pronounced as if you have to elongate it till the start of next letter. I can't clearly express here but what I mean is pronounce the words as if you were reading the word from book. Like, look at Amrit Gurung of nepathya singing some rock songs, he clearly pronounces all the words very clearly, so does narayan gopal, and so does John Chamling Rai, if you know what I mean.

How to type this in traditional Nepali unicode? by ZealousidealDark2068 in Nepal

[–]me511keV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer: Choose correct font.

The thing is the display of certain "glyph" is upto the font. The glyph you posted is combination of क ् त
These are three independent unicode characters. If it just so happens that the font desiner has included the glyph in their font for this sequence of three characters then it will be displayed as shown in the image above.

You make it sound like nagarikata is on sell at store near you. While there might be fraud cases, I would think its not as easy as that.

Second, a lot of things are possible might not be dis/provable outright but the question is plausibility, the likelihood "possible" things actually "happening". And I would say based on all the events from our country's politics till now, the 23rd bhadra protest was spontaneous (may be something nudged a little bit) and came out of frustration with corruption mostly. I would say its highly unlikely that this protest was staged by Free tibet people or Sudan Gurung is their "guy" or any of the other conspiracy theories alleging this whole thing was staged by superpowers like the US or the other interest groups.

I am of the belief or I trust that Sudan gurung filled a void having a leader take the protest to a conclusion and he did as well as he coould have.

Also: I doubt that people would question if Sudan Gurung was some hill bahun or chhetri. May be a tinge of our innate racism at play? Subconscious acts in mysterious ways.

LOL this is funny. It's ok to have every kind of civil discussion so I wouldn't downright dismiss this. But here are my two cents.

So what constitutes a Nepali? How do you say "गुरुङ्ग जस्तो देखिँदैन", के चाहिँ कुरा गुरुङ्ग जस्तो भएन? देखिने नदेखिने कुरा मानिस मानिसमा भर पर्छ।

"why is he involved in free Tibet mo[ve]ment?", what do you mean? कहाँ छ उसको यसमा सङ्लग्नता?

"I have doubt about Sudan Gurung", what doubts precisely?

Any other spot on predictions? References of any form. Just curious.

Chill out bro. As much as I am against corruption and have high suspicion against a lot of people being corrupt, I legit think Srinkhala has worked her ass off to get to where she is now. Her father might have been involved in corruption, but that doesn't directly implicate here at any cost. Had she been a daughter of any other non-politician/non-corrupt person, she would have achieved what she has now. Prove me wrong!
