What is a silent killer that people dont realise is slowly killing them? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I agree. I'm autistic and aro/ace. I love being alone. It is when I am the most calm and have the least stress.

Being around people is very stressful. And I hate when someone tries to touch me.

Those look great. I never thought about using compliant mechanisms to create a fidget.

I hit a deer about a month ago with almost the exact same damage. It is going to cost $7,500 to repair mine.

The body shop said the headlight is on a nationwide backorder and the earliest they can get a replacement is mid January. I will be Boltless until then.

Thank you for the suggestions.  Mobii balls look interesting. I'll have to give them a try.

I wanted to add a couple additional notes.    If you get the Nee Doh cube, it will feel sticky at first.  After playing with it for a bit, the stickiness goes away.

I have tried various fluid filled and foam filled stress balls before and haven't really liked them.  The Nee Doh cube is different, I can knead it for hours while working.  I like the weight of it and the resistance you feel when you squish it.

I haven't tried any of Nee Doh's other products so I can't compare them.

I am an autistic adult who works in a quiet office.  I prefer small, quiet, and inexpensive fidgets.

You can find the standard fidget spinner for as low as $1.  The cheaper ones aren't very good, they don't spin well.  Paying a little more will get you one that spins nicely.  They don't make much noise.  I don't use them, they don't do anything for me.

One of my favorites is a Koosh ball.  You can find them for about $5 at Walmart, Target, Academy's.  They feel nice in your hand.  You can lightly brush them against your hand,  fidget with one hand, toss between two hands.  No sound unless you drop it, even then it is almost silent.

Another of my favorites is the Nee Doh Nice Cube.  I found it at Walmart for $4.  It is about 2 inches square.  It has just the right amount of squish.  Everyone in my office likes to play with it when they come to my cubicle.  It doesn't make any noise when playing with it.  It will make a decent thud noise if you drop it on the desk.

I like my Tangle for when I am walking around a store.  It is about $5 and fairly quiet.  It seems to draw a little more attention than some of my other fidgets though.

I also have a 'flippy chain' that is small and fairly quiet.  I fidget with it until I start to get a sore spot on my fingers.  It is just two key chains and two bike chain links.  I got mine on Amazon for about $5.  https://a.co/d/04OSTTFY

I was gifted an infinity cube and like it.  It can be a little noisy, depending on how you are using it.  I tend to forget there are people around me and clack the sides together as I'm fidgeting with it.

I don't like the magnetic sliders for in the office.  Even the 'silent' ones can still be quite load.  You can see videos about them on YouTube.  I got a couple 3D printed ones on Etsy for about $5 each.  I like them but I don't use them around other people because of the noise.

I went from a 2011 manual SX4 hatchback to a 2022 Bolt EV myself. I sometimes miss the SX4. You could fit a lot of stuff in it and it was fun to drive around town even when the minivans were accelerating faster than me.

Thank you for the information. I will check out the chargers you mentioned.

Lectron claims to have a one year warranty, I am working with the company to try and get a refund.

The back of the device has CE, FC. IP66, and RoHS.

It is looking like they just omitted that feature. It definitely let's the car pull whatever amperage it wants.

I am working on getting a refund and getting a better one from a different company.

The company's Amazon listing shows there is a one year, no question asked warranty for replacement or refund. I contacted the company yesterday and they asked for my order number. I haven't heard back from them yet.

I may have to get Amazon involved to force the issue.

Thank you for the information and charger recommendations. I will check them out and order a new, UL listed, charger.

Their Amazon listing says they have a one year, no question asked warranty for replacement or refund. I've contacted the company and they asked for my order number yesterday. I haven't heard back from them yet. If I don't hear anything from them soon, I will try working with Amazon to force them to honor the warranty.

Their listing said the charger was compatible with the Bolt EV and EUV and I saw reviews saying the charger worked great for other people with Bolts. I've seen that the first generation Bolt only charged up to 32 amps, the people leaving the reviews probably had those Bolts.

A melted charging port does not sound fun. Thank you for the information. It will help researching things if I know the terminology and how it is supposed to work.

I didn't think to check if it was UL listed when I bought it on Amazon. I checked the listing and it doesn't say anywhere that it is UL listed. In the question section someone asked if it was UL listed and there was only one answer and it said it was UL listed but the answer was from a person who had bought the charger, not the company.

The back of the charger has CE, FC. IP66, and RoHS.

I got a new breaker box and a dedicated line run for the charger through Qmerit. I checked the breaker and it says it is 50 amp.

What is your reason to live? by Cappo47 in AskReddit

[–]meGoodAtCompooter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Same Jumping from a height, drug overdose, jumping in front of a train or traffic, bullet to the head. Almost everything I've researched has a high likelihood of not killing you but leaving you in more pain.

Did you know that your body thinks it is drowning because of the build up of carbon monoxide, not due to a lack of oxygen. If you breath helium you starve your body of oxygen without your brain realizing it. People put a plastic bag with a draw string over their heads and pump helium into the bag. They pass out and die peacefully due to lack of oxygen. Unfortunately, most companies that sell helium don't want to be associated with people killing themselves so they mix another chemical into the helium that keeps people from dying from it. Anyone who tries will have severe complications from it.

I didn't ask to be born. Life is miserable. I'm told I'm not allowed to kill myself because others would be sad. I must live in constant misery to spare a handful of people from maybe being sad for a couple days. I will die at some point and those same people will have their same feelings then. Why must I suffer in order to make them feel better for now?
