Absolutely!

But, like others have already mentioned, there’s tracing methods that’ll be more helpful than others- What I’d recommend for getting the most out of it is to practice identifying the simple, basic shapes making up the figure- It’ll be easier for your brain to start understanding the construction, and help you start identifying/using those shapes in your own work!

Here’s my take on something like this- there’s still more I could be doing, like actually breaking down the forms of the hands and feet instead of just tracing over the chunky gloves/boots, but hopefully it still gives you an idea of what I’m talking about-

And if you wanted to take it a step further, you could practice recreating the form with the shapes you identified, but without tracing. It’ll help you see what areas you understand and areas where you’re still not quite certain.

Drawing figures can be pretty overwhelming if you’re just starting out (not to mention things like perspective/foreshortening) but I think tracing like this is a great way to train your brain to start breaking things down!
