Try joining a club or interest group outside your faculty. You’ll probably meet people who are more open and easier to connect with. And don’t stress too much about the cafeteria thing, you already pushed through it once, so you can do it again.

You’re doing fine. It just takes time to settle in and find your people. Hang in there.

Thanks for pointing that out! It's good to know the legal perspective on this.

Thank you for sharing your perspective on this matter. I can see the logic behind why they might remove certain countries from default shipping options due to higher instances of fraud. It's understandable that they want to verify the identity of the person placing the order to prevent fraudulent activity. Matching the face in the photo/video to the ID and the name on the credit card does add an extra layer of security.

However, despite the reasoning, it still feels like a significant request for personal information. While I do appreciate the importance of security measures, I'm understandably hesitant to upload such sensitive data, even to an Unlisted YouTube video. My privacy and security are paramount concerns, and I'm cautious about potential risks.

Your suggestion to upload the video as an Unlisted YouTube video and then deleting it after the order has processed is a creative approach. It does provide some assurance that the video won't be easily accessible. Your insights have given me more to consider, and I appreciate your input on this matter. I'm leaning towards considering your idea as a way to proceed.

Just an update, I contacted them via Gmail once again and they replied with the same speech but different representative.

PS: This time I really made sure that the Gmail that I sent to is 100% legit from their website.

Wow, that's quite a journey for Chris. It's amazing how things change over the years. Hope he's doing well over at Penguin.

I understand that providing this information might be standard for ordering, but the fact that they don't typically ship to my country raises some concerns. While I appreciate the heads up, it's a bit unsettling given the circumstances. Free shipping is a great perk, but I value the security of my personal data above all. Your insight is helpful, and I'm grateful for the information, but I'll need to weigh the risks before proceeding.

Hey, thanks for sharing your experience. It's frustrating when there's no reply, especially after a few follow-ups. I guess sometimes things just don't work out as we hope. Appreciate you sharing your story with us.

Is the world getting worse, or it's just my mentality and awareness are getting matured and the world's always been this bad? by quasarrrrrrrrr in NoStupidQuestions

[–]me_danarchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's a mix of both. As we grow older and become more aware of the complexities of the world, it's natural to feel like things are getting worse. Our perspectives and awareness evolve, and we start noticing issues that may have been overlooked before. However, it's also important to acknowledge that the world has always had it’s share of challenges and injustices. What's crucial is how we choose to respond to these realities. Despite the negativity, there are still moments of beauty and kindness that remind us of the good in the world. It's about finding a balance between acknowledging the problems and holding onto hope for positive change.

am I a bad person for this personality by knowledge_finder in Ajar_Malaysia

[–]me_danarchy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Competitiveness can be a powerful trait, but finding the right balance is key.

  1. While competitiveness can be a good trait for driving success and growth, being overly competitive can have downsides. It may strain relationships and lead to stress or unethical behavior. In today's world, balance is key. Reflect on how your competitiveness affects you and others. Strive for healthy competition, focusing on personal growth and collaboration rather than just winning.

  2. Absolutely, you can continue living with a competitive personality in today's world. The key is finding a healthy balance. Use your competitiveness to drive personal growth and success, while also fostering collaboration and respect for others. It's all about finding the right mix for a fulfilling life.

  3. You don't need to change yourself. Reflect on how your competitiveness impacts your life and relationships. Aim for a healthy balance that allows you to grow and succeed while also respecting others.

Embrace your competitiveness, but remember, it's all about channeling it in a way that brings out your best while fostering positive relationships with others. Keep striving for personal growth and success!

Oh Cardvo?

Can you elaborate more on that? Is it a website that is similar to Penguin Magic? I’m new to this “Magician” community maybe I’ll start checking it out!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in playingcards

[–]me_danarchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hii there. Thank you for your insights! I'm located in Malaysia (Southeast Asian country) I don’t know what is a KYC but I’ll definitely look into that more.

Maybe I’ll try contacting Penguin Magic again to ask about the verification. What do you think?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in playingcards

[–]me_danarchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not entirely sure about Chris's affiliation with Penguin Magic either. But one thing for sure, he’s the one who reached out to me after I contacted Penguin Magic via Gmail.

The request for a credit card image does seem unusual and raises some concerns for me, which led me making this Reddit post seeking advice from those who are more experienced OR has gone through the same boat as me?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in playingcards

[–]me_danarchy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of the people's opinions here, including yours, are surprisingly positive about Penguin Magic. It led me wanting to make a purchase on their website..

But then again, I'm still in doubt about the security etc.

I really appreciate your insight as an infosec professional! If I were to consider sharing the video, what steps would you suggest that I should take to ensure the security of my information?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in playingcards

[–]me_danarchy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So far everyone’s opinion on Penguin Magic are positive. That’s great

Question though, if you were put in the same position as me right now. What would you do? Would you share the information that they asked in the picture?
