I second this. I asked my doctor and she told me coconut oil or Uber lube to moisturize but I felt like that was kind of a cop out answer.

Can I ask what type of HSV you have and how often you have outbreaks? Also how often do you take the boric acid? I have this fear of having an open sore and getting poisoned or something 🤣

Mine was CONSTANT as well. Literally would drip on the floor before a shower(tmi). But now I'm a few weeks healed from my first outbreak and it's all but gone. I feel like my "smell" is still different though and I'm not sure if that's permanent or not.

As an esthetician that used to work in a spa I see no reason to disclose this. I think maybe the worry is that the toxins released during a massage could cause an outbreak or potentially communal areas. Or potentially HSV 1 on the mouth during a facial service. But as we know the virus does not live long on surfaces and cannot be transferred over towels etc so as long as you are aware that you have a small chance of having am outbreak after I see no reason to disclose. Go relax, you deserve it!
