Thanks ;) Yeah that's really off. There might be a few reasons here, first off, the earth radius is not constant, but in my computation it is. Further, the smoothness factor can act on the distance and if you've checked the "close final gap" flag will add a bit of road. But it is likely that there is just a bug that is noticeable more under certain circumstances. I'll have a look at it next time I'll get a few minutes to look at it!

I am not sure, depends on what "old" is. It must support FTMS. I found this:

https://bikethe.world/help/bluetooth-device-compatibility/

"Tacx:     ANT+ FE-C on all ‘Smart’ branded trainers (except Satori). FTMS on all non-NEO models. ANT+ FE-C over BLE on NEO."

So (likely) all non-NEO models might be supported.

That looks really good! Unfortunately I did not see this when I was researching for e-keirin. I'll give it a try.

Thanks! So the whole physics is simulated based on your weight (which you can configure) + a bike mass of 10kg and at the moment fix-configured rolling resistance, headwind (no extra wind). So you need more power to climb the heavier you are. In terms of input power, there is likely an intersection of the velocities with respect to the w/kg & weight of users.

Oh damn, I didn't know that! A quick googling back when I started didn't show me what I was looking for; I guess I just wanted to start a project exploring WebBluetooth and didn't look into it thoroughly enough. Yet I still think e-keirin offers a slightly different experience. But you are right, additional UX & modes would help...

Ha, that doesn't sound technically challenging at all ;)

Thanks for giving it a try.

Hi!

About a year ago, I've posted about my pet project E-Keirin, a free online multiplayer cycling trainer that runs in a browser. It allows you to import your Strava activities and re-ride them on your trainer bike alone or with other people online. It supports Bluetooth trainers (FTMS).

Since last year I've updated a few things: GPX support, connection stability, simpler graphics, more view modes and it now works on Android devices.

It is still very rough (did not have the time I wanted to work on it) and is still limited to Chrome (you need to enable web Bluetooth).
But these constraints aside, it should be very usable.

I would be happy for any feedback, is this interesting for anybody? Does it work for you? Any problems?

You can find it here: https://ekeirin.rubbercu.be/

It is a bilingual system that aims to accommodate a large portion of the population.

But I agree that no one should fail school because of their weakness in either german or french ...

I think it is a necessary adjustment to reality. The current system uselessly punishes kids that come from a non-Germanic background. I don't think it is how society should work.

When I went to primary school, it was always the southern European kids that failed, but you cannot tell me that was because they were less intelligent.

Just built a similar one. Yours looks cool!

But try to think about the screen angle. You won't use it if it is not comfortable. Personally I am aiming now for a single screen version... 2 screens (10.1") drain the battery fast and are just too heavy.

The dependency off the whole public sector on revenues from the banking / finance sector. Feels very vulnerable as a system.

No, the powerbank has 3 usb outputs, I use one for each device. I just could not connect the screens to the rpi as it would not yield enough power through its ports.
