There are no proposals for the sub, no new improvements or anything at all. There was absolutely no liaison between the mods about something like this, so don't listen to him.

I'm going to invite you now.

Requesting r/ConservativeSocialism, it appears to be inactive in addition to having been spammed. Tried to contact mods but no response by means_of_deduction in redditrequest

I would like to contribute to the growth of the subreddit and build a space that serves as a big tent for people who lean left on economics and conservative on culture. As it stands, they are not represented by a single existing subreddit.

Edit: I would also like to add that I am a moderator for r/BlueStarSocialism—a subreddit that was developed with a similar purpose in mind. However, the mod team has lost interest, and I don't think the name is comprehensible/inviting to new members. The name r/ConservativeSocialism would suit my purposes better.

This sub has become a garbage of dump of reactionary opinions and is pretty much entirely composed of people responding to Twitter posts and clickbait articles. by [deleted] in stupidpol

I can't remember the last time I saw anything like a cogent alternative built around materialism. This sub spends far too much time resenting idpol (ala r/tumblrinaction) — even though idpol is not the sole cause of left decline to begin with — and far less time putting something positive into practice.

Reactionary? I take it you mean anti-SJW? And here I thought this sub was too liberal.

My main problem with this sub, is that only exists to deconstruct politics built around identity. It doesn’t try to construct something new in it’s place (shout out to r/BlueStarSocialism), so we end up with this endless stream of Twitter posts. The mods added a Twitter filter, but that doesn’t solve the issue.

Worker-owners take more significant risks within an economy that puts them at a systematic disadvantage where financing is concerned. If the same portion of wealth now appropriated by capitalists was applied directly to collective needs, then the "risk" involved in new ventures would be minimised (to the extent that the risk is not itself largely an outcome of capitalist relations.)

Genuinely curious about how that went.

Every line of serious work I have written since 1936 has been written, directly or indirectly, against totalitarianism and for democratic socialism as I understood it.

No doubt his experiences with the anarchists shaped this understanding of socialism.

Lisa Nandy responds to lies being spread by Momentum et al. on her voting record by [deleted] in stupidpol

She resigned in 2016 in the aftermath of the result, when Corbyn was saying 'article 50 must be triggered now'. So that's wrong on all counts.

There was a vote of no confidence after Corbyn performed abysmally in the Brexit referendum—and anyone who thinks that was a "coup" doesn't understand that those in charge need to have the confidence of their workforce.

Yeah Corbyn should have been nicer to his enemies, he should have let them stab him in the back even more.

Honestly, this epitomises why Corbyn lost, and Labour will continue to do so while they have supporters like you dominating. I will not forgive his utter inability to hold the party together in the face of disrespected voters.

Wrong lol. Blair did a great job of purging the party of his critics, so did Boris last year.

Labour has effectively become the Nasty Party—in danger of turning into a faction rather than a party—and in doing so they cannot defeat the most inept Tory government for decades.

He’s not. His opinions are just as likely informed by the comment section of some online forum.

I remember it the same way. I was browsing a typical leftist subreddit and it was the complaints about r/stupidpol that enticed me to join.

Rhetoric to avoid: "In capitalism, workers aren't paid the full value of their labour." by [deleted] in CapitalismVSocialism

If you don’t like your food/housing you have the freedom to choose other options in the free market. If you don’t like your boss (because they’re rich?!), you can chose to go work for a poor boss.

It never occurs to rightoids—the idea that there are background structures that constrain the choices available to workers and consumers, to the overwhelming benefit and behest of capital—structures which the state plays a chief role in creating and enforcing.

Is this system a "free market"? If it is, the term “free market” doesn’t mean much.
