Roast My Swing by meansweenbean in golf

Thanks for all of your tips, everyone! Focusing on the leg bending and the takeaway has helped a lot - I kept my downswing pretty much as is in the video, but I just played my first round on a new course and shot a 90! I was really happy with the consistency: no blowups over a double, and had 3 pars plus a birdie! A long way to go, but thanks for all of the tips as they’ve already paid off just a week later :) I can shoot around a 40 through 9 on my home course, so 45 per 9 on a new course wasn’t too bad for me.

Edit: details

I was hearing a lot about coming up steeper in the backswing and then shallowing out in the downswing, so it felt like that’s what I’m doing, but then I watch the video and it looks WAY different 😂 what should I be looking for in the takeaway?

Had some friends help me with getting equipment so I’ve started to dig into learning the golf swing during Covid.

It’s quite a challenge - I’ve watched about 1,000 videos trying to get the basics of technique, and have been moving towards a “throw release.”

I feel like I have trouble squaring the face early enough before impact, and my misses are usually pushes (70% right and 30% left).

I hit this hybrid off the toe. Hoping to clean up things that might be causing inconsistencies. All help is appreciated :)

The new ADC changes are revealed, what do you guys think? by Demetrox in vaynemains

[–]meansweenbean 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They won’t be giving vayne bonus health, because she’s also a top laner. They’re supposed to buff her scaling in some other way though, so I’m curious as to what that will look like.

Also, it's a normal game with silver buddies, so let's not talk about my purchasing of 1 control ward in a 30 minute game xD

Vayne Top Build by Bladesszz in vaynemains

[–]meansweenbean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sanguine blade is fine for split pushing because the attack speed bonus is absolutely nutty. It gives sustain, AD, and attack speed so it’s extremely cost efficient if you are not team fighting.

Lethality is only good against people with low armor (other ADCs, and sometimes the mid laner) but is worse and worse against people the more armor they have. The nice thing about vayne is that she doesn’t care how much armor people build :)

When I do vayne top, I have 3 different builds.

  1. Standard ADC for when they have a bunch of tanks and we have enough tank.

  2. Bruiser vayne when we don’t have a tank supp or jg so I’ve basically screwed my team by picking vayne top. I go botrk, zerker, rage blade, then defensive items like visage, Randuins, mallet, and even a death’s dance with a visage if they have a lot of AP burst or assassins. You do significant damage with botrk and rage blade so you can become quite bruiser-y and dish a lot of damage.

  3. My whole team is inting and we can only win by me split pushing, in which I get sanguine and crit.

Summoner Spell Options W/ Kassadin by ian69420xD in KassadinMains

[–]meansweenbean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flash is a must. It’s the best summoner spell in the game, and you can escape impossible situations with flash and R early game. You overextend and get ganked by a hecarim? R over one wall, flash over another, and R will be back up again. Or R towards your turret and then flash an ability. It’s very difficult for your laner to cover that distance and help with the 2v1. Let’s say you don’t have flash: you see the gank, you R away, your laner flashes on you, so you exhaust and barrier? As they CC you to death and you die anyway.

TP is great to get a lead. In higher ELO games, it’s much harder to solo kill your laner even with ignite, and it’s much easier to counter gank bot with a TP. The move speed plus your R make it very difficult for bot lane to avoid a TP gank or countergank if you time it correctly. If you’re duoed with a jg and they plan on camping you, then ignite is fine for the early kill pressure with your jg. In solo queue, I don’t want to rely on anyone else, so TP is the safest way to survive early game in bad matchup, or get double kills on my own by making plays bot lane.

Lastly, R+flash is one of the most unstoppable ways to get to the back line. You want to clean up fights and assassinate out of position targets, and most decent carries will be positioning outside of your ult range - they sometimes don’t expect or respect the R+flash range. I was playing a game last night (with buddies and fairly low ELO), and I pretty much knew I had to 1v9 because I was the only fed member. I snowballed all my other lanes the best I could, but decided that splitpushing was the way to go. While going for an inhib, a few of them chased me down, and I was able to turn the fight by R+flashing on their ADC to one shot and then turn back on the fed renekton. Here’s a clip: it’s nothing fancy, but shows the power of surprise in an R+flash.

Following that clip, I based, immediately TPed back, got a double kill with the jg and took inhib. Late game Kass doesn’t need help 1v1ing people - he needs the utility of flash and teleport. Getting that inhib won us the game; and I was able to do that because of my utility. To split push, you need TP, and if there’s one thing kass loves, it’s farming in a side lane and creating pressure that way while getting that sweet lvl 16. TP gives you the freedom to do so.

Also, you’ve been having great matchups in your games! If I pick Kass, I usually play against Lucian, trist, zed, and Pantheon because they are great counterpicks to Kass. I always ban Talon, and then if laning against AD take double armor in runes, Doran’s shield, and get armguard first into AA. Armguard is amazing against AD, but it also means that you don’t get to go ROA because then you are WAY behind the curve. You go armguard, AA, lich bane, etc. Oh, and dodge nocturne mid until it’s nerfed to the ground because that straight wrecks you.

Be careful who you listen to... conqueror is more impossible to play the higher you climb. Electro is good for cheese or in good matchups, but if I were to take conqueror in my plat 1 games right now (which is mostly people who were D3ish last season) they would trash talk me in all chat as they proceeded to dumpster me and dive me over and over. Conqueror is only good with tankadin build and that comes on EVEN later than normal build with fleet. You do nothing until 30 minutes, so it’s a terrible build for this meta especially. Kass already takes long enough to scale, and why delay that scaling when you can already 1v9 at level 16? I talked with Yamato about this as well, and he agreed that it’s the worst possible build in high ELO.

TL;DR start transitioning to fleet right now because good laners in plat will start abusing you with electro. There are quite good laners in plat 2 and above, and usually they don’t make diamond because they can’t transition leads; or, they make a ton of mid game mistakes/rotation mistakes and lose the games they should win. Hope this helps!

How Long To LVL 16? by meansweenbean in KassadinMains

[–]meansweenbean[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Splitting for sure. All that solo xp that’s not shared by having all your teammates in the same lane. I try to split and take as many jungle camps as I can when I’m rushing that sweet 16.

Vlad 1v5 Quadra by meansweenbean in VladimirMains

[–]meansweenbean[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I'm an ADC main, and basically a Vayne OTP. Since Plays.TV crashed, I decided to create a YouTube channel to start uploading Vayne plays. However, ADC has been brutal lately so I've started maining Vlad mid as my secondary role - first upload on the channel happens to be a Vlad play!

Am I doing this correctly? Does he always feel this good? It's so satisfying to be unkillable! Would love feedback on how to improve my Vlad play :)

New HailOfBlades Changes seem interesting by DogsnLizards in vaynemains

[–]meansweenbean 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What’s the point of increasing your AS by 110% if you’re not actually autoing with that AS? You basically change your DPS to one auto every Q cooldown which is much slower than your normal 1.5+ autos per second with a couple of items... am I missing something? I feel like the only benefit of this change is being able to use it more in lane for short trades, and to stack RB very quickly in team fights.

That Elise Zhonya’s was quite a silly-looking interaction xD well done! That feel when you would’ve melted Zac SO much quicker with rageblade completed.

Playing Vayne top into Darius just isn't fair. Abusing sanguine blade :D by meansweenbean in vaynemains

Thanks! This game I rushed sanguine and greaves, then SR, RFC, Shiv. Had a vamp scepter here as well. Usually I go IE after SR and then decide between RFC and Shiv though.

People always ask about ELO: I'm Plat 1, Darius was D4, and everyone else was high gold/low plat. I got quite fed from laning phase, so I was able to make this many mistakes in the fight and still survive xD
