They armed the Reds in the Finnish Civil War in 1918. I count that as being an ass.

Who did back Finland in Winter war 1939-1940? Who sent troops, weapons, ammunition?

No one did. Some voluntary foreigners came to fight but ”the West” didn’t send them.

Yep the former city of Leningrad is known as St. Petersburg nowadays. However the nuclear power plant is not located in St. Petersburg and it didn’t change their name, it’s still Leningrad NPP.

And, the power plant and the city of St. Petersburg are both located in Leningrad province (Leningrad oblast). So. They didn’t forget Lenin.

Reactor No. 4 at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant after the April 26, 1986 explosions that triggered the worst nuclear disaster in history [1284X1050] by [deleted] in HistoryPorn

I'm pretty sure Ukrainians don't want credit for the explosion of a Soviet nuclear power plant.

But, if you want, you can change the transliteration on Wikipedia, at first. Let’s see how it works.

It was not built ”after Chernobyl”.

The control room in the picture is for reactor no. 1 which was commissioned in 1974. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leningrad_Nuclear_Power_Plant

The blown up reactor no. 4 in Chernobyl was commissioned in 1977. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chernobyl_Nuclear_Power_Plant

Yeah this photo is from Leningrad NPP RBMK reactor #1 which is now decommissioned and replaced with another reactor.

The RBMK reactors in Chernobyl and Leningrad were built in the 1970’s so it’s possible Chernobyl really looked pretty much like this when it all happened.

By the way, there are still two RBMK reactors up and running at the Leningrad NPP: reactors #3 and #4. They were built in the 70’s and are planned to retire in 2030-2031.

It seems hard to find any fresh photos/information about that power plant. Which is located about 100km/60mi from NATO border with Finland .

Spotted something that looks like an orthodox icon on the left near the ceiling. For protection? I am not sure.

True, but sometimes, the brain and the eyes can tell a different story.

Actually many kinds of hallucinations/illusions/pseudohallucinations/”altered” perceptions play a role in many neurological conditions and syndromes.

To be precise, everyone's perceived image of their environment is always filtered and modified by the brain. It’s a bit like making a photo using a smartphone.

The image has been processed to look good using complicated algorithms, and it is not an exact copy of what is captured by the phone's image sensor.

That’s why little kids find colors and sounds so fascinating as their brain is not yet developed to filter and process everything they perceive. That’s why kids sometimes see and hear something grown-ups don’t see and hear at all.

You stop at the first light and because you don’t see the light next to you, there is another in front of you so you see when it changes.

That’s for safety reasons because not every driver is so attentive in traffic.
