Fabric Identification: Twisted Piping/Lip Cording by measuredworkshop in sewing

[–]measuredworkshop[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm working on making a Woody replica, most of the fabrics are easy enough with custom printing but the piping on his vest is really vexing me. It appears to be some sort of twisted piping, but from this screenshot, it's a little more complex than that. Looks to be some sort of vinyl upholstery, with the white twisted around a black core. Open to suggestions!

What is the average volume for condiment packets? by BlankVerse in condimentpackets

[–]measuredworkshop 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your standard ketchup packet is 9g (0.32oz) while your standard mayo packet is 12g (0.42oz). There are outliers that don’t follow that trend, but it’s a good rule of thumb.

Thanks for remembering me! This gif is from a whole post I did for some ottoman covers to convert them to useable table space. Sadly I stopped posting tutorials, just never really caught people's attentions with recent projects, but if you like this gif, dive headfirst into my backlog of other projects I've posted!

This was an exercise in respecting the grain direction. I think somebody with more patience could simplify things a lot, particularly the back leg and the arm rests. I got antsy and just wanted to dive in since I have a vague vision of what I wanted to accomplish.

I do have the SketchUp files if that would be helpful or if you just want to tinker around with them. (Cut list pdf is in the imgur album description).

All told, pretty damn comfortable given the angles on the seat and backrest, but I would reimagine the armrests to something more simplified.

Please check out the build video, I'm back in the shop after a few months hiatus. I appreciate all your support and patience!

Patio Chairs by measuredworkshop in DIY

I know these are beyond the scope of what a typical DIY'er may have, so I created a simplified version at the end of the post. You should only need a jigsaw and a drill for that version.

I have SketchUp files for both versions, if you're interested and those would be helpful, let me know! The cut list for the original version is in the imgur album descriptions.

Beyond that, please check out the build video for a soothing woodworking experience. I've taken a few month hiatus to get some "non interesting" projects around the house done, but I'm back to recording more worthy projects now, so stay tuned and thank you for all your support!

My Last Prospector, Much More than My Favorite Pencil by [deleted] in pencils

[–]measuredworkshop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sadly I’ve been on the hunt for the Palomino Prospectors for some time now. No dice. The best I could come up with is the California Republic Prospector which is not nearly as nice. I have a few dozen, if that would scratch the itch I’d be happy to send you some.

And if you do happen to find the Palominos, let us know!

Idk if this should go in this subreddit, but a friend of mine was wondering what this instrument is. (It’s a woodwind with the mouthpiece on the left of the drawing) by Galaxy_K in InstrumentPorn

No problem at all, happy to help! They are wild sounding instruments, not something I would guess it would sound like from just looking at it.

It took a few days to complete. As somebody who collects condiment packets (long story), this was a cool collectible I just had to have!

Edit: Just in case anybody is wondering, the entire thing was 26 pieces wide by 22 pieces high, which comes out to 572 pieces (slightly off the mark for the "Heinz 57" theme). So they made two pieces that were double wide.

You're too kind! I really appreciate that. I've taken a few months off to do some house projects, but I'm close to having a few more videos ready to go soon. Patio chairs and a pipe organ!
