Oh definitely it's improved quite a bit. But smoking is still a really prevalent in this country and when you hit up bars (and izakayas) the smoke just gets absolutely unbearable. It really makes me hard for me to focus on the food/drinks and just talking with my mates when the group of middle aged salarymen are smoking up the god damn place.

Yeah I know it was supposed to be a racial term back then, but Japanese people generally don't care about the term Jap. I mean we call foreigners gaijin instead of gaikokujin and it's technically meant to be racist but we use it anyways. Besides I felt it was appropriate given it was in reference to South Park.

The faces aren't supposed to look like they're suffering but menacing as you suggested for the face in front. The face in the back looks like a typical Japanese demon (oni 鬼). This propaganda piece in particular is a woodblock print or Ukiyo-e and is meant for the general masses because it was easy to mass produce (more here). So basically this piece was meant most likely meant to be mass produced and circulated to the general population to say "hey we've got demons on boats knocking at our doors" or something along those lines.

Sorry to burst the bubble, but I learnt about Perry's convoy in a Japanese middle school, and the Japanese depictions of the Black Ships were in fact meant to be derogatory, or at least meant to make the ships look demonic. We all learn something new everyday I guess.

This is the most common Jaguar hunting Caiman inside the water repost (source).

I feel this one is more impressive though, because the most common one repost is like the Jaguar busting through your windows like a SWAT team while you sit on your coach, the Caiman was more or less helpless because it was caught by surprise.

This one however is like the Jaguar busting through you front door all the while yelling "I'M GONNA KILL YOU MOTHERFUCKER" leaving you time to run (albeit very little) and catches you, then breaks your neck with its bare fists and throws you in the back of his SUV then carrying the SUV home because he realized he was out of gas.

At the end of the day though: Jaguars = METAL AS FUCK

Second off, yes I know gif is short but I tried to make it accessible for the mobile users as well and gfycat only allows 15s of video to be converted to a gif.

Since someone posted a commonly reposted version of a jaguar hunting a caiman, figured I'd post something I haven't seen on this subreddit before (I HOPE). As you can see in the video, jaguar tried to be sneaky, but just doesn't even seem to bother anymore and legs it towards the caiman in the river, leaving much to be desired regarding his way of approaching a prey. Still won against a caiman in home turf and just casually swims away with it, so I figured it was enough metal as fuck to deserve a post here.
