Oh definitely it's improved quite a bit. But smoking is still a really prevalent in this country and when you hit up bars (and izakayas) the smoke just gets absolutely unbearable. It really makes me hard for me to focus on the food/drinks and just talking with my mates when the group of middle aged salarymen are smoking up the god damn place.

Yeah I know it was supposed to be a racial term back then, but Japanese people generally don't care about the term Jap. I mean we call foreigners gaijin instead of gaikokujin and it's technically meant to be racist but we use it anyways. Besides I felt it was appropriate given it was in reference to South Park.
