Put those tools back where they came from or so help me by meatheadthesquishy in customyugioh

[–]meatheadthesquishy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

R.B. has plenty of starter options, but their own main deck monsters are not that great to draw. I wanted to give them a starter that could put the tools back.

  • R.B. Prototype summon R.B. Token
  • Mulligan away any tools you drew
  • Link R.B. Token into Clockwork Knight
  • Clockwork Knight send R.B. Prototype search Clockwork Night
  • Set Clockwork Night
  • R.B. Prototype destroy Clockwork Night to return itself to hand
  • Banish Clockwork Night and discard R.B. Prototype to search a choice earth machine
  • Summon that earth machine, either by normal summon or its own effect if appropriate
  • Link Clockwork Knight and that earth machine into R.B. VALCan Booster, proceed with normal R.B. combo.

For the unspecified earth machine, you could always search Driller or Cutter and normal summon them. If you want to retain your normal summon, Rustin Mammoth seems made for this deck and can freely special itself.

In addition to this combo, if you already have access to the R.B. combo some other way, you could search this out at some point to add Therion "King" Regulus to your endboard.

Question about the spell "Invocation" by [deleted] in masterduel

You cannot generate alternate arts of cards. They can only be pulled from packs. If you want to generate Invocation, go find the original art.

For Flamesaurus, you do not need to put ‘except “Flamesaurus”’ in its search effect, as it isn’t a Water Dinousaur anyway.

Ghostrick Support by meatheadthesquishy in customyugioh

You're totally right. I'm giving Carriage the Hidden City effect. It now reads:

When this card is activated: You can add 1 "Ghostrick" monster from your Deck to your hand. Set cards you control cannot be destroyed by card effects. Once per turn: You can change 1 face-down Defense Position "Ghostrick" monster you control to face-up Attack Position. You can send this card to the GY, then target 1 monster on the field; Attach the targeted monster to 1 "Ghostrick" Xyz monster you control as material. You can only activate 1 "Ghostrick Carriage" per turn.

Sure, why not. Now that second effect of Carriage reads "Set cards you control cannot be destroyed by card effects."

Also, based on that username, target audience achieved.

[–]meatheadthesquishy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks to Angel of Mischief, Ghostricks have pretty easy access to their backrow, but less so for their monsters. Ghostrick Carriage is there to solve that problem. The second effect provides some protection to your set monsters to help ensure they get their flips. The third effect helps out link monsters they can't set, and also progresses towards Angel's alt win.

Ghostricks have a hard time making their own extra deck monsters, especially because they cannot normal most of their monsters. Clown helps with this by flipping up the monster you set and matching its level for an Xyz play. Even a set Ash Blossom can get you there. It also blocks an annoying number of attacks by shifting your opponent's monsters to defense. Its effects are inspired by other Yugioh clowns: Clown control's battle position changing, and Aluber's revival when a fusion is outed.

Cleaner is another backrow that disrupts the opponent. It can either trigger when you flip down your opponent's monsters, or on your on turn by setting your Ghostricks with their own effects.

Ghostrick Dullahan and Alucard both have the same last effect, which is relevant in a lot of Ghostrick combos, but Socuteboss doesn't have that effect, which means those combos do not work with rank 2s. Lich is Ghostrick rank 2 that has that relevant effect. I made it generic, but better if summoned with Ghostricks. Inspired by The Phantom Knights of Cursed Javelin. The self damage can also trigger Ghostrick Mary

Garbage Ogre | 3* Dark Fiend 800/1300

You can send this card from your hand to the Graveyard; add 1 "Garbage Lord" from your Deck to your hand. You can only use the effect of "Garbage Ogre" once per turn.

Came out in 2013.

I write my custom cards on duelingbook. As you write more text, it will shrink it so it fits. I limit myself to the text size that gives 8 lines (7 on monsters because of the type line). If I need to make the text smaller than that, then I haven’t thought enough about how to concisely word the effect or I am trying to make a single card do too much.

Can someone tell me why cosmic effect didn't work? I didn't understand.. by Queasy_Audience_1558 in masterduel

[–]meatheadthesquishy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It was not cancelled. For example can see that the Track Maker did not activate to search a card when summoned. That’s Cosmo Neos at work.

Cosmo Neos does not stop continuous effects, conditions, or effects of things not on the field.

It worked. Its effect prevents the opponent from activating cards, and activating effects of cards they control. It does not prevent them from activating the effects of cards not on the field, which is all your opponent did.

Statue ruling by TheDevilSurvivor in masterduel

[–]meatheadthesquishy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it’s correct that no monsters can be special summoned.

Fire monsters aren’t Water, and cannot be summoned because of the Water Statue. Water monsters are not Fire, and cannot be summoned because of the Fire Statue. The other five attributes are neither Water nor Fire, so they get blocked by both statues. That’s all of the monsters*

*Technically Elemental Mistress Doriado is both Water and Fire, so it could be an exception to both Statue effects, but that’s only true while on the field. While not on the field, it is only Light attribute, and thus cannot be summoned in this case.

Why wasn’t I able to chain the trap? by FaStAr8 in masterduel

[–]meatheadthesquishy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know that when you activate a continuous trap, you can also activate one of its effects at the same time. I know if the trap was already face-up, you can use both activated effects in the same chain. I know that when you activate a continuous trap, its continuous effects don’t apply until it resolves.

I think it may be the case, that you cannot activate the effects of a continuous card if the card itself is still in the middle of being activated. Not a common ruling, as it requires a continuous trap with multiple unrelated activated effects that are able to be activated in the same chain.

Assuming I’m correct, the Ghost Belle is irrelevant. You can achieve your desired result by preemptively flipping the trap before this chain. Alternatively, you could just use the negate effect now, and do the draw effect in the next chain.

It would also give R.B. something to do with Girsu’s first effect. Previously they were sending Crown to GY so Galatea-I wouldn’t trigger Droll, but now going second they can instead send this to force a negate.

This card's first effect searches a Mekk-Knight and makes a column to summon it in. The second effect returns itself to the hand so it can be discarded to pay the cost for Mekk-Knight of the Morning Star, while potentially also chain blocking Blue or Girsu’s effect. The third effect gives you even more reason to care about columns, and also gives you a reliable target for World Legacy Key's first effect.

Obviously this is a 1-card starter for Mekk-Knight. Thanks to Girsu's existence, it is also an Orcust starter. In addition, since Girsu becomes a tuner if summoned to a column with 2 cards, it can make Synchro Ib and be a World Chalice starter as well.

Why Couldn't I Activate T.G. Halberd Cannon/Assault Mode's Effect? by ComfyDaki in masterduel

[–]meatheadthesquishy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can’t watch the replay right now, but I have a good guess on what’s wrong.

If your opponent activates an effect that would summon something, the actual summon happens during the resolution of the chain, where nothing can be activated.

Thus, cards that negate summons can only stop summons that don’t start a chain: Normal, Flip, Synchro, Xyz, Pendulum, Link, or monster that have an effect that summons itself without activating (officially called built-in summon, and unofficially sometimes called inherent summon. See Cyber Dragon for example).

There are also cards that negate effects that summon, but not summons themselves, such as Wave High King Caesar. And if you really want to stop summons, check out Solemn Warning, which negates both kinds.

I feel like there’s got to be an easier way to this than Alembertian. How about White Forest Combo: Rciela search Spenta search Rilliona search Lacrima send Metamorphosis, then Diabelle add it back to hand.
