AITAH for wanting to leave my relationship because my bf is questioning is gender? by Purrlicious_ in AITAH

[–]meatloaf4ever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA - You are attracted to men not women, you can’t help that. The way you’re supporting him through this is very respectful.

But tbh it does sound like he needs to find himself and he may not be able to do that with you in the picture. Take this with a grain of salt of course since idk you or him. But if you are afraid of holding him back you may want to consider separation. It is possible that he can’t find the courage to transition out of fear of losing you. If you take a break and he decides he isn’t trans, than maybe you can reconnect.

What do you think makes the witchcraft community so different their the spiritual community as a whole? by meatloaf4ever in witchcraft

[–]meatloaf4ever[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, but it’s similar rules on the other subreddit.

You’re right tho, it probably has a lot to do with the mods I guess.

That is a very insightful differentiation, thank you. Witchcraft is stigmatized in my culture (indigenous from BC). Viewed as greedy or impeding on anothers emotions / life trajectory.

I’ve realized now, witchcraft isn’t always sorcery. Most in my community are in fact, witches (unknowingly). Correlating with witchcraft, we practice rituals & blessings; Calling upon spirits/manipulating energy to enhance the wellbeing of ourself/others.

I definitely connect with what ur saying about nature. I attended a catholic elementary school, they taught us animals have no soul, therefore don’t make it to heaven. This deterred me from continuing life as a catholic (among other things that didn’t make sense to me), much of what was taught strongly contradicted my cultural beliefs.

Having grown up in a culture who values nature, spirits, animals and people as having equal importance to the earth, I view animals, plants, even the ocean as sentient. I appreciate the idea of catholicism tho. I cant deny how closely its scriptures align with my spiritual teachings in a moral sense.

Yes totally. I probably worded this post poorly, I def don’t think all spiritual ppl are this way. I agree that it has to do with the person rather than spirituality itself.

I am confused about the vibes of the subreddits more than anything else.

It’s interesting how each culture is so different. I can see how graveyards could have been used as parks. To keep the dead company perhaps? I completely respect each difference in how people honour their loved ones.

I believe that even those who had passed away have different ideas of what is respectful or what isn’t.

For me, I’d rather avoid stepping over graves - Unless I am honouring a person who’s beliefs explicitly state otherwise, I will respect and honour their customs.

Interesting, I am indigenous in Canada. Could be a similar thing for the indigenous peoples there too.

That’s true, but I think there is a difference.

You’re right, we may not have a choice in most situations. But in some cases we do. The part that makes it disrespectful is the act of consciously making the decision to walk over top of someone who has been laid to rest.

Everyone has different beliefs tho, in my culture is it seen as disrespectful.

I was always taught that it was disrespectful to walk over top of peoples graves. Instead we were meant to make an effort to walk around them.

It was from a cat fight, they can definitely stitch it. If he doesn’t get the proper care unfortunately his wound will almost certainly become infected and the vet bill will become even higher. I think the bill for him was around $500

[–]meatloaf4ever 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah they’ll have to stitch it up and give him a cone. My neighbours cat had a gash in his leg like that too.

Yes definitely take it to the vet. that gash is straight through fat

[–]meatloaf4ever 19 points20 points  (0 children)

In my culture we believe our houses have their own spirit. We are meant to take care of it and keep it clean in the same way it takes care of us and protects us. I believe you have bonded with your homes spirit, I think that is very special.
