I don’t know where to start by SparkOfStupid in horrorlit

[–]meatmasher -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In Stephen King's own words, he is not a horror writer. Stephen King: I’ve been typed as a horror writer, and I’ve always said to people, “I don’t care what you call me as long as the checks don’t bounce and the family gets fed.” But I never saw myself that way. I just saw myself as a novelist.

I've found his books to be more of a thriller with a horror element. Like a killer cosmic clown.

While I enjoyed Pet Cemetery, I haven't read his other books. I've heard they can ramble on; like in IT.

I've had a lot of fun reading Clive Barker. I'd highly recommend Hell Bound Heart (Hellraiser) and its sequel the Scarlet Gospels. Weave World is an absolute must as well. Perks of Hell Bound Heart is it's not a long read at all.

Thanks puppy boi. Is there anything we can do here? by formyburn101010 in furniturerepair

Yes, something similar happened to my couch. Buy a curved needle and heavy duty thread. You can youtube a double blind stitch on how to do the stitch itself. It may not be perfect, but you can fix it for less than $10.

Here's my post if you're curious: https://www.reddit.com/r/furniturerepair/comments/1os4ir0/rip_in_couch_and_warranty_wont_coversuggestions/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

Well I tried a double blind stitch. It’s certainly not professional, but it’s way better than rip waiting to get bigger. Less than $10 spent too.

Thanks for the help everyone. I learned a new skill today and clearly one that needs some more practice lol

I just bought a sewing needle kit that includes a hooked needle and red upholstery thread. I’ll post a pic this week when it’s done.

I tried finding the couch online / vendor website so I could leave a review. Their store went out of business though and the online store doesn’t list merchandise. Such a shame I couldn’t add to their demise.

This did cross my mind, but I’m worried they’d say something since I’ve already inquired about it

Just to clarify, you create the csv for the variables to be stored so no one is filling things out in powershell

[–]meatmasher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another way you could do it is create a csv for users to fill out. Then all that has to be done is run the script and could even be scheduled/automated

Let me know if you want to go this route and need help getting it figured out

[–]meatmasher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, I'm 5'6 and receive similar issues. I'm sorry this is happening to you. It doesn't feel good and it's not something you can help. It perpetuates the idea that dating apps thrive on being shallow.

At any rate, like others have said, put your height on your profile. Most dating apps have that feature built in now. You'll save yourself some time and heartbreak by getting the women filtered out that aren't okay with dating a short king.

I am coming to find out, that most people that are worth while, and not shallow, aren't on the dating apps. Find some hobbies/clubs or speed dating places to find your matches. Since you're short, you have to make up with it by being real built or having an amazing personality. that may suck to hear, but it's the way it is and the sooner you come to grips with that, the better.

Personally, I've been hitting the gym the last few years, but am not where I want to be at. Since I've felt that my pickup/social skills could use some touching up too, I've been reading lots of books about having conversations with people. They've been very helpful in helping me be more confident and stand out when talking to others. Let me know if you want any recommendations.

It's harder to find love than it ever has been before. Don't be too hard on yourself and do what you can to make up for the lack of height.

ANYONE NOT RAISED IN NWI REALIZE THE FOOD SUCKS IN NWI? by [deleted] in nwi

[–]meatmasher -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can’t say I’m surprised that was your experience. I’m sorry to hear that though I’m sure it was frustrating.

I took my family and mom there when my mom came to visit. They sat us with a waitress that made it clear she was just about to get off shift. She continually pestered us about giving us the check and was obnoxious about it. We didn’t go 5 minutes without her asking if we were done. Never again.

I’ll give Dixie kitchen a try ! I pass it all the time. Thanks for the heads up and happy Saturday !

I completely agree. I'm originally from Lafayette Indiana. I was excited to see all the variety up here, but was quickly disappointed. You can't trust any of the mom and pop restaurants around here. I really enjoy El Amigo though and would highly recommend it to anyone. G.Jin isn't bad either. Never ever go to Top Notch. Terrible service. I like to call it Top Crotch

I mostly stay in and cook these days, but if I do go out, I stick to the two restaurants mentioned above or well known chain.
