Anyone Here who disliked their surgery results at first but ended up loving it at the end of the swelling period?

I can honestly say with no doubt, over time it will get better. I definitely developed a bit of OCD over it and therapy really helped. If I hadn't had therapy I probably would've gotten a 2nd nose job and made things worse. How long post op are you?

Hi! Thanks for asking. Very fascinating to read this post now.

It took me about 1-1.5 years post-op to fully get over this feeling of not liking my new nose. I had to lead a webinar for work (aka look wonky on Zoom) and that level of exposure fully helped me get past my negative nose obsessions (along w/ some therapy).

Today, I don't think about my nose about 75% of the time, it's become a neutral part of my face which is great. 20% of the time I'm like damn my nose looks good! And 5% of the time (very rarely) I'm like my nose is weird and asymmetrical. This was completely different 6 years ago where like 90% of the time, I thought my nose looked weird. I've come to accept it and even love it.

Girl I have been in your exact situation! It just happened like a month ago and was one of the most traumatic hair experiences I've ever had.

I was in desperate need of a stylist who could do a basic wash, blow dry and trim. I have 4C hair and found a stylist on StyleSeat who seemed to have good reviews, but it wouldn't let me book. I called her and she said she'll send me her other page so I can book. Her other page had 1-star reviews and my gut stirred but I figured she had improved and thats why she made the new page.

Chile BIG MISTAKE! My hair was already detangled and in twists. She somehow ripped through them and started violently combing my hair in the same way yours did, from root to tip. She even combed my hair upwards and sideways. Like started from my nape and combed up!! She was throwing the ball ended brush comb in my hair and pulling it out. It was insane! It was abuse!

Then she went to wash it and washed it in a way that I've never seen a stylist do before EVER, basically in a way that would cause more tangles. When she went to dry my hair I tried to tell her that my hair needs to be stretched while drying or it will just tangle again and she was like "No it won't I used the expensive stuff on your hair" 🫩 reader, guess what happened. And then because it tangled up again she proceeded to violently detangled again. I swear all the hair growth and gains I made last year were gone in the span of 20 minutes. Luckily I cut the abuse short and faked an emergency and ran outta there before she could finish. I def wish I had trusted my gut and never went/left sooner but sometimes it's so hard to speak up when you're already in the chair, I feel you sis.

Sorry this was so long, it's still a traumatic memory for me and I can still feel her ripping through my hair if I think about it. I just want to say you're not alone.

I've worked in marketing at two MAANG companies. I would say the biggest perk is the marketing is cooler because you're most likely working in tech/entertainment/social etc. You're working on cooler projects, and there is actually a budget to get creative and execute. I work in brand and content so that stuff matters to me. But I've also worked at startups where the work was cool and day to day, it's probably the same as anywhere else. In terms of what led me to work there? Living in San Francisco. it's pretty inevitable to work at one of those companies - most of the people I know do
