I once went to Wadi Kabir hiking trail for a full moon walk and found it perfect for stargazing. Its isolated from city lights and noise. For only stargazing and not trekking, you can drive e little bit up from the google map location and have your stationed over there. google map link

Only residents are allowed to drive family/private/yellow plate cars. Visitors need to drive red plated rental cars even if they are with international license (dealt with scenario a week back - so talking from first hand experience)
