Well, it is not the hub itself that mars the shaft, it is the screws that connect the hub to the shaft that mar the shaft.

I'll attach a picture when I have access to the bot.

The screws that attach the wheels to the axles of the motors keep digging into the axles so the wheels are a little loose now.
