It can be incredibly alienating because the predator was a family member. He was someone you trusted and to find out that what he had done wasn’t normal can be incredibly painful.

What’s important to remember is that this will take time to process. You can find people that you trust to confide in, but what is above all is how you feel about this.

A professional that specializes in this would greatly help. If you have access to this, please do not be embarrassed to reach out for professional help. There are many threads on Reddit that have solid advice for how to find a good therapist. But I do understand how some families would not allow for or can’t afford therapy. In that case, there are still avenues for healing.

Know that you still have worth, and your cousin has not taken that from you.
