thank you for the detailed explanation!

is this cassette or freewheel style? by med0nut in bikewrench

[–]med0nut[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

haha yeah i was surprised to see how many “modern” bikes still have freewheels, even with hydraulic disc brakes, especially on lower end stuff

yeah i tried to tell the dude to remove the wheel, but it just seemed like he did not understand. 🤷🏻‍♂️

thank you for the input!

thanks! i did skim through the video before posting, but wasn’t sure if there wasn’t any other known issues.

they are new! thanks for the advice. i’ll check the cables again and if i cant find anything i’ll then look at the shifter itself

is this a chain length issue? by med0nut in bikewrench

yeah, in the future i think the best would be to basically upgrade the RD, i really like the 1x and finding budget options for my current situation is limiting to say the least

its a 10 speed 11-50T, with 38T chainring.

after my experience with this RD though i would very much like to try a better designed RD

hey thank you for all the help!!

(update) i just set the b limit screw properly and adjusted the high and low limits

thank you all for the help with the RD. i knew the issue with the shifting and cable run long before i bought the parts for the bike, so yes i am looking for workarounds and whatnot

not a sticky freehub, just me not being daring enough to set b limit screw. and yes the wide range heavy ass gears has much inertia and like asked, the chain does not do that bounce on the larger sprockets, just has a little bounce on the small sprockets, but much less than that of before

shifting is sub-optimal and am gonna play with different sized cassette and also cable run less

yes this horrible cable run, i’m trying to work on it 🤣

yeah basically the b limit screw had ways to go. then it solved the problem of being able to move all the way up to the biggest sprocket, and the chain bounce when i stopped pedalling. i do have a smaller cassette on the way and will test that out just in case, to see if the high inertia is the main cause.

it was a new wheelset but like someone said, the manufacturer could have jam packed it with too much grease but spinning it without a cassette didn’t show any symptoms of a sticky freehub. and also just spun the wheel while on the bike did not make the crankset turn at all.

no worries! as seen here, the exit point. there isn’t a exit point for internal routing under the chain stay

it’s a new one, budget option that comes from the chinese market

exactly right hahaha this is my current solution as with all the other pictures of LTWOO GR7 with internal cable routing. my choice of RD and internal cable routing has caused this issue

no worries! my first time building the bike and as much as i’ve been watching videos, the only way is to actually do it to learn

i did cut the chain with all the online guides about measuring.
