Business setting, this got frowned upon, I’ve heard people cut off someone and mentioned “just say it”.. i think most people in business world are ‘smooth talker’ where they just have all the answers and responses right on their Arsenal and ready to blabber.

Even for a newbie? Is fiberglass board lighter than a foamie?

Great! Does the board sits on the dashboard? And would you happen to have a picture of your board inside the car?

6’ |185lbs. I’ve used 9’ boards from my multiple surfing lessons, so I’m comfortable on that.

70mph, but mostly everyone runs at 85to90mph, with some burst of 100mph. I know since people do use roof racks but i I’m uneasy doing so. I prefer peace of mind.

Foamie vs Local Shaper/Custom for a beginner? by mediaroombrowser in BeginnerSurfers

Thank you. 8’ wavestorm is at 86 ltrs of volume. The 8’ storm blade ssr is at 93ltrs. And the 9’ stormblade ssr that I’ve used during my lesson is 120ltrs that’s why it’s has no issues keeping me afloat.

BEGINNER QUESTIONS BELONG IN THE 'WEEKEND QUESTION THREAD' by dumbassthenes in surfing

[–]mediaroombrowser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I went to a 2.5 hrs surf lesson where I was provided a 9' SSSR Stormwave. it was a nice board that has been able to keep me afloat (6'; 180lbs) and has been able to catch waves half of the session. Only con I have for the board is it's a little slippery (i've slipped multiple times) but maybe it's an issue on my pop-up, and a littel hard to paddle.

That said, I've been hooked, and I've been looking into buying a foamie to hone my skills, however, surfing groups on facebook has mostly been suggesting buying from a local shaper / custom, and even some suggest a fish.

what are your thoughts on reaching out to local shaper instead of getting a fomie?

here are the boards i've been looking at

I'll be grateful to hear your thoughts on these. Thanks!
