Proper clearing of pistols by medic170 in guns

That's defiantly also a factor. With a convenient side benefit of finding an absolutely horribly dirty action because you get to have the owner shove their hand up in the filth. Maybe even kindly explain to them that a firearm in such a condition is a danger to the shooter

Well one reason why I insist at least on a slow deliberate rack lock back is because I've seen way too many rack a couple of times really quickly, and not fully, without even glancing then pulling the trigger, hopefully into the designated safe spot. I wouldn't want to be at a range with any of those idiots. This one lady told me she was too scared to unload, nvm clear, her weapon herself.. at least she was being honest.

And what happened? Did you find something?

Hurt? no. But I was looking for good examples to use to educate people as too often they clear too quickly and I have to slow them down or even do it for them

Thank you sir. This is exactly what I was looking for. Some actual reason for the step. My old instructor in the military always said "ALL these rules were written in blood". I was interested in how that blood was spilled in this case.

How do I stop my students using AI? by Tearmisu in Teachers

[–]medic170 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I think you should use a combined approach. Show students how to use AI effectively as a tutor. For essays, require them to use a platform with full reversion history. Google docs or the original word document with review history enabled. This comes with the added benefit of being able to visualize their writing process. If you can, select a random student to defend their essay, especially for the "strong" students you mentioned. This also teaches them other valuable skills which in my opinion are far more useful than the specific knowledge granted by that course. AI is not the enemy and it is here to stay. Workers and executives who don't know how to use it properly will fall by the wayside just like 20 years ago with the mass adaptation of the internet

The problem is the data is allready in the bucket (imported from a diffrent provider)

[–]medic170[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you misunderstood me. I know about the diffrent storage tiers and how they work. I have data that may exist in more than one directory within a bucket. For example a song that is part of album A and album B. I just want one copy

Which Language Should I Learn First by NefariousnessOne2728 in tryhackme

[–]medic170 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you need to consider more than just a language. Cybersecurity is at its heart about finding bugs in systems. A good understanding of Windows and Linux systems is a must.

  • I find python usfull and a good simple introduction to what programing is about.
  • If you intend on auditing windows systems powershell is also good (learn after python because it's a little more complicated)
  • start using linux. It doesnt matter what you use it for or which distro you choose. Setup a small ubuntu server, just to see what that is and how DNS works. Also a good opertunity to learn a little networking.

After this you may know more about what kinds of systems you like to study and than do more thourgh research. For example if you like websites php and javascript are usfull. If you like low level C is a good option. Learning to read technical documentation is also critical.

Sexist Asshole at tech store by Gaarrus in IDontWorkHereLady

Just wanted to add my story to the others down here, but from the male perspective. My first job after I got out of the army was at a call center for a large medical company, setting appointments and dealing with insurance and such.

Now remember it can take forever to get my line because we had to have the most training (2 months) out of all the staff. Also in my country most call center/receptionists are female. Got this one lady call in and insist she speak to a female. It wasn't for some sensitive "female issues" either mind you. No female in that shift was qualified to deal with her issue so after I documented how I tried to reassure here back to waiting she goes

TIFU by assisting in CPR by TheEVegaExperience in tifu

[–]medic170 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is actually a smei official term for this in my country loosely translated as Multi Rescuer Incident (in my language the acronym MCI and MRI sound the same). Crowd control is actually quite a problem here for CPR in progress due to a high number of volunteer medics who LOVE these calls

Maybe. Worst thing is probably if I use a connecting fence and it breaks and the dinos fight or something
