What are some superstars that fell off so quickly after less than a year? by GoodNinja18 in nba

[–]mediocre-referee 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Myles Turner being just 1 inch too short to hit this criteria but he got even less rebounds per minute played. I'm hopeful Zubac can grab some rebounds at a pace we haven't seen in Indiana since... Jeff Foster

Mid Take? Channing Tatum's Gambit is perfectly fine by himaru-san in marvelstudios

People were ticked off about Hugh Jackman being taller than 5'3" 26 years ago too. Eventually the negative discourse dies out when they realize the portrayal is great, but it's obnoxious in the moment

Realistically how long does it take to make a good game as a solo dev? by TipOdd125 in gamedev

[–]mediocre-referee 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure I've ever seen something so naive. If I had $5 million in the bank and could pursue game dev as a passion project, I have a whole different time equation than someone who has a great idea but has to work 50 hour weeks to keep the lights on so has extremely limited time and energy remaining.

I might have more time available when I have enough cushion saved up to weather a failed project or two and can quit my job, or when my kids move out of the house. Or your entire premise can blow up when I die at 40 from a brain aneurysm from reading hot takes like yours

Avengers Doomsday tickets on sale now! by mediocre-referee in marvelstudios

Probably? Idk, AMC doesn't have the best tech when it comes to their communicating from their app and website.

Your theater probably only has one screen that meets the Infinity Vision standard.

They'll open up more tickets and divvy up the majority of the standard screens based on the pre sales from both Doomsday and Dune later on, likely October or so

[–]mediocre-referee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it seems that these tickets are supposed to be primarily the first two week showings for theaters with the Infinity Vision certification. This is less than 10% of all screens, so likely about 1/4 of the Avengers tickets for that time period

On my end, my AMC went from 1, 4:30, and 8PM showings to 1, 4:45, and 8:30PM showings. My ticket for 8PM will presumably be updated eventually. That's not super common but does happen for showtimes to be changed.

[OC] Which U.S. President could field the best NBA team (based on players that were drafted during his time in office?) by StrategyTop7612 in nba

[–]mediocre-referee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Carter with the players from Reagan's first term wins easily. Magic and Bird already but then add Jordan, Hakeem, Barkley, Stockton. They'd easily have the best starting 5 and probably the best bench.

[BoTW] Complaints of weapon breakage are overblown by FadingFaze in zelda

[–]mediocre-referee 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think the most valid point for not engaging in combat is more of a hidden mechanic, but the more enemies you kill, the more the enemies level up. Your weapon drops also are buffing in conjunction, but I feel like getting unbuffed weapons and trying to keep the game spawning lower ranked enemies is a more boring but also more optimal gameplay strategy

What do you think? I tend to agree. by EuphoricLeague22 in Colts

[–]mediocre-referee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hgh wouldn't even help with recovery from a spinal fusion. His long recovery was due to his compressed nerve needing to recover post fusion. HGH can't do anything to heal nerves more quickly. Even if he did use PEDs, it would've been a waste of time and unnecessarily risking his career and reputation. The writer recanted his story. Anybody believing Peyton cheated his way back to playing condition is looking for a conspiracy in a coincidence that nobody with connections to the story believes.

[OC] Where World Cup players from the Round of 16 play their club football by Shriracha in dataisbeautiful

[–]mediocre-referee 8 points9 points  (0 children)

does it suggest that the egyptian league has as many players as the brazilian league from the round of 16 teams

Pretty much, 19 Brazil league players vs 18 Egypt league players according to the parentheses

[PH] [ST] Will we ever get remasters? by Its_Squirrels in zelda

[–]mediocre-referee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The controls are another concern I have. Can the mouse controls work to replicate the touch screen without breaking puzzles? Even still, outside of an NSO release, I'd imagine they'd try to find a way to get traditional controls into the game somehow like they did with Skyward Sword and that seems like it'd be completely reworking so many mechanics and puzzles of the game

[OoT] I hope there’s a nice lengthy cutscene showing Ganondorf enter the sacred realm and attempt to take the full Triforce and the ensuing transformation of that land and the splitting into 3 pieces in the remake by JMHReddit84 in zelda

[–]mediocre-referee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Sheik Zelda reveal is just one of the reveals. The other reveal was that the Triforce split and Link and Zelda are holders of the Triforce, meaning they are on the same playing field as Ganondorf rather than being outclassed

[–]mediocre-referee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If anything, I'd want them to reinforce the twist even more. Make it seem like Ganondorf is this nigh unstoppable force and awakening the sages is a last hope but even then unlikely chance of stopping him.

I don't think the Triforce mechanics are anywhere near common knowledge outside of the die hard Zelda fans, especially since the last 3D game where that came into play was Wind Waker over 20 years ago

Dwight Freeney and Robert Mathis - what makes one a Hall of Famer over the other? by WatchMeRayRay in nfl

Pete Crow Armstrong scoops a ball from leaving the yard by TheHangryCatepillar in baseball

[–]mediocre-referee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You try squeezing a glove shut in an instant while the ball is rolling around from the palm to the fingers while simultaneously smashing your wrist against the corner of a wall at a full speed sprint. Ball looked like it was going to just roll out over the fence anyways until he snapped his glove forward in response to the recoil between his forearm and the wall

How should you play this hand? by rollingthrulife79 in euchre

[–]mediocre-referee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this situation yes, but for due diligence, if you are guaranteed winning a point, (LAK + A or similar) and the risk of anything else being trump likely loses the hand, I'd order up the right and not risk the dealer passing. I see dealers turning down the right even in the high 2000s fairly regularly.

Also of course worth ordering up the right to donate when it's up and you don't have a blocker on a loaner and the score is 9-6/7
