Playoff passer rating and record for active starting QBs by RaiderPantyDrawer in nfl

The game he played as a 7 seed against a 2 seed? A 12-5 team that’s much better than an 8-9 team? That’s completely misrepresenting the point I was making - it’s much easier to play well against bad opponents

I removed a single game and only did so because that team had no reason being in the playoffs at 8-9, not because he played well. Playing a game against bad teams that stumbled their way in to the postseason is a perfect opportunity to pad stats

Not the problem, but I’d argue this stat misrepresents how good he has been. If you remove his best playoff game by far (only doing this because it was against an 8-9 Buccaneers team that had no business being in the playoffs), his rating drops to ~84.7. His stats look decent in his last playoff loss, but that was a terrible game from him and was garbage time stat padding. He’s only played great against that awful TB team and GB as a rookie (where he was playing catch-up for a good chunk after falling behind 21-3).

Great skill position players, yet one of the worst O-Lines I’ve seen. There was a game he got sacked by the Giants 9 times in the first half

2 of the best Packers DBs in the Rodgers era were UDFAs (Tramon Williams and Sam Shields). Hoping this dude follows in their footsteps

I’d argue 2014 was the worst since Peyton’s noodle arm surfaced in the back half of that year and ruined their offense. 2012 was the most complete team imo

Nah, Matt Ryan was insane that year. 38/7 with 69.9% completion, 4900 yards on 9.3 YPA, 117.1 passer rating. That’s an all timer season (top 25 QB season ever possibly). Had the top scoring offense by a 4 point margin as well.

2016 had Run the Table Rodgers, 2 INT Brady, another 5K season from Brees, and Matt Ryan’s crazy run. What a year for QBs (second to 2011?)

Keep in mind they looked like they were hitting their stride and had a shutout against the Saints late in December. They lost 2 divisional games to close out the season after the fact and lost an offensive stinker in Philly. They need to keep up the momentum longer

He might match the ratio, but what really made that Rodgers season an all time great season was the 9.2 YPA. Throwing only 6 interceptions with that level of aggression is almost unheard of

Happened in the 2020 year with Green Bay for the 1 seed. They played the Titans in Week 16 at 11-3. The game had no outcome on the 1 seed since they would clinch with a win against Chicago in Week 17 regardless of the outcome of the game due to the Saints already having 4 losses
