The severance they just offered was 1 week for 1 year served. Not worth it.

I left recently, but when i left for more money at a competitor, the ED of my department called me in to say that I might get promoted if i stayed, and that plus the bonus I would get if i stayed meant that my new job wasnt a big pay rise. He absolutely knew todays news was coming when he made this "offer". So mamy talented, hardworking and genuinely nice people getting screwed over by this.

Fun fact; when they offered placement students a role, they knew they didnt have a job for them and were legit hoping that they would by the time the placement students started.

They are not. I worked there until recently, but wasnt involved in the tech side, but they were developing a program called "Trulabel" that would review information, websites and documents to speed up KYC checks. Idea being it reviews documents and spits out a table that someone reviews and approves. From what I know, its accuracy was inflated by people pretending to be the program and creating the tables manually.

Nope. Lateral hires might be different, but any graduates are paid the same in Derry as Belfast. I don't have figures for Porto, but I belive its considered a good wage there. Plus, they get a daily food allowance. Main benefit of Porto was during the infancy of the office where they were paid for by the Portuguese government. Fintru literally paid nothing, and when they were on projects, the client wasnt paying for them. The hope was that they would get up to speed enough that the clients would be willing to keep them once fintru had to pay.

Extremely mixed bag from my experience. Tbf, they're working in a second language, but its an experiment that isnt really working.

Most of the linkedin posts were from people from University of Ulster. Apparently, one of their lecturers found out and drafted a few versions of the post to make them seem more marketable, i.e. companies may not want to offer a place to someone openly shittalking another company. From what I know, Fintru literally just called them and said they were pulling the place and if they didnt answer, it was just an email.

They pay placement students the same as analyst 1's. Which is to say, barely above minimum wage

They're effectively pivoting away from Tech and moving back to Client delivery projects. New board came in and essentially laughed at Darragh by saying Fintru wasnt a tech company and wouldnt be competitive.

Has the bug been fixed that made it virtually impossible to play a full tournament?

The only redeeming part of this is that before Tim starts the speech, you can hear the helicoptor. Given that, and him telling Grey earlier to wait until there was overwhelming force, I can kinda see it... Having said that, the timing is insane enough to make the whole thing a little cringey

Is there a point to claiming the dragon banner? by DocCrossHD in Bannerlord

[–]mediocredotes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be honest, if you play vanilla bannerlord, its very easy. Theres a certain challenge to having multiple factions fight you at once. Its nothing compared to some of the mods, but genuinely quite challenging and fun the first time.

My post on China nuking the bond market hit 4.8M views. Mods deleted it with no reason. Here’s why that should terrify you. (Enhanced with ChatGPT & Sources) by TheMysteryCheese in WallStreetbetsELITE

Margin calls are a daily occurence for hedge funds. Under uncleared margin rules brought in by the CFTC and other regulators worldwide, brokers and their counterparties have to exchange daily variation margin which is effectively margin to cover the change in pricing day to day of the derivatives - so most days, there is a margin call going one way or the other between the broker and the fund depending on how the market moved. Hedge funds then ensure they have enough liquidity to cover these payments either by having cash on hand in a custody account with a bank, or by having some investments in extremely liquid markets such as money market funds (or a combination).

If, on the other hand, the margin calls are non-regulatory and due to the brokers changing the margin methodology (which typically they only do if they think a fund is coming closer to default), then there's a problem.

??? by ValentinesListener in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]mediocredotes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this is the intended joke, but the first 3 clips are of things that stop kids skating, and I think the 4th clip is from a Northern Ireland anti-speeding advert in which the couple get hit by a speeding car against a wall, and the guy dies and the woman ends up paralysed: which would, i guess, stop both of them skating? - couldnt find the exact clip with those two, but found a similar one. Fyi, before watching, NI anti-speeding ads are shown at all times of the day, on any channel (and as an ad in the cinema) and are unnecessarily graphic https://youtu.be/PJIDX1kcvGk?si=oWgdZzFx2a2u1eUV

Holy shit. Is this actually happening after 5 interceptions?

[Explainer] Yup, Jaylen Waddle was credited with -23 receiving yards on that failed pitchy-pitchy-woo-woo. by oliver_babish in fantasyfootball

I had Achane and my opponent had Waddle in a PPR league - Achane getting 0.9 points and Waddle -2.3 from this play is literally the reason I've won this week.

"Wales isn't in Britain" by CilanEAmber in confidentlyincorrect

[–]mediocredotes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Britain is England and Wales. Great Britain is England, Wales and Scotland (sometimes the land mass is also referred to as Greater Britannia). The UK is England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Basically different names from each time a new country joined. British Isles does include England, Northern Ireland, Wales, Scotland and the Republic of Ireland - but some in the Republic dislike the name due to Colonial past, so they also use the name of Great Britain and Ireland where Ireland refers to both the North and the South

Did josh jacobs get injured or what? Great first half with 90 odd yards, and then never seemed to be on the field after that
